GOZU (COW HEAD STORY, 牛の首)

Making them to go down into the pit of insanity or become so afraid that they die.

The main origins of the story are not clear, but it is believed to have come from an ancient folktale that was so scary that it was erased from historical records to prevent mass hysteria. 

Some versions claim that Gozu was a supernatural being, a cow-headed monster that ate people and cursed villages. 

Others say that the story describes an unimaginably gory event, too gory and scary for the human mind to handle.

A famous retelling is that of a schoolteacher who found torn fragments of the story and decided to read it aloud to his students while on a bus trip.

As he read, the children began to scream and cry in fear, and the teacher, noticing this, decided to stop reading.

However, as he became possessed and continued reading no matter how hard he tried to stop.

Later, the entire bus was found in a state of madness; their minds had been shattered.

To this day, no one knows the full story of Gozu, and those who have read it have mysteriously disappeared or lost their sanity.
