59: Veil

He spent the whole day attempting this and wasn't even close to his desired animal. The robed individual went home.

...

The next day, Thomas was sitting with Crina in a random classroom on the third floor. "So why'd call me out here?" Thomas looked at her as he leaned back, "Tell me about your history with Ben?" She smirked as she leaned in, causing Thomas to lean in closer.

"Why do you wanna know?" She asked now curious, did he have Ben? Ben wasn't a good guy, but he wasn't the type of guy that could make himself look bad. "You see, Ben is a powerful guy who's not exactly so reliant on others, but he still needs them. He needs the validation of someone; I want to know who so I can help him return by coaxing him into forcing his way back by using that person."

She looked at him, she could see through the easy veil to stay vague about it. Crina knew he was lying. It was obvious. "Okay. I will. Ben, we met a couple of times in our youth. My father before he... it doesn't matter, despised him. I never knew why. However, in school, we were friends. I went to the same lower school and got attached; he then decided to go to Elderion High for Mages. He was loved there and then he forgot about me. Ben told me the next time he saw me, he'd make up for lost time." She sighed as Thomas thought about it.

"Make up for lost time. Yet, he never made an attempt to reach out. Are you sure he even cares about you?" Thomas asked as he stood up, with that he walked out leaving Crina to think about what The Big Loser said. He shut the door and he was grinning from ear to ear.
