My heart constricted, but I switched off my mobile. I decided not to answer his messages. It was moment to move forward.

That evening, I stayed at my own place. The following day, I went to the new residence Robert and I had set up as our matrimonial home to collect my possessions. The majority of my items were already boxed up and my artistic materials had been transferred to my workshop the previous day. Only one final bag remained.

As I pushed open the entrance, a sugary voice drifted down from above. "Robbie, your scrambled eggs are absolutely divine! I've been longing for your cuisine since I was overseas."

I could hear Robert respond affectionately, "You're such a dear. If you remain here, I'll prepare them for you daily."

Diana appeared melancholy. "You're about to wed Trudy soon. She probably isn't comfortable with us spending so much time together. Perhaps I ought to depart."
