Chapter 9

Shen Zichen heard the word "wedded wife" and struggled to inhale the breath caught in his throat.

He could tell from Chu Ruilin's tone that he couldn't push the man any further for the time being.

Chu Ruilin was the type of man who if did not wish to hear from a particular person, could unsee the entire person's existence, treating the person no different from how one would treat bloodstains on a pitch black fabric.

So, he gave the man a weak smile and watched him grab his belongings to leave the room.

After the door clicked shut behind the man, he closed his eyes shut, as if forcibly. His dark eyelashes were slightly quivering, casting shadows on his cheeks.

That night, Shen Zichen had trouble sleeping.

When he woke up the next morning with a massive headache, he contemplated between the two options of crashing his car off a cliff or getting plastic surgery to change his identity.

After gulping down the medicines that Chu Ruilin had ordered up for him the previous night, he called the reception to inform them that he won't be able to check out at 12 noon but would instead be extending his stay for another night.

After doing this, he went back to bed and decided to review his actions of the prior night while snuggling up inside the dove gray quilt.

As he layed on the bed, staring at the ceiling, he realised he neither regretted kissing the man nor copping a feel of that exquisitely crafted body.

He could actually feel himself getting hard by just remembering the scene of Chu Ruilin's embarrassed and angered face with his lips glistening with saliva and his breathing disordered.

There was no regret to be felt but he couldn't exactly feel proud of his actions, either, right?

He forced a throat deep kiss on the groom on his wedding night. He also, almost begged the groom to let him fuck him. No matter which angle one looked at the situation from, there was no way this ordeal could be salvaged.

Chu Ruilin would probably be wary to even step in the same room as him now. What would happen to the violin, then? Would the man avoid going to the garden to play his violin just to avoid seeing him and being alone with him at nightime? He should, right? The man had himself advised him to maintain a distance from him.

Perhaps, he would grab Fang Yunzhu's hand and take him with her to the pavilion to avoid him sneaking close to him. Or perhaps, he would just simply play the violin in his room now that he is married with Fang Yunzhu and let her be the sole listener of the hauntingly beautiful music.

Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin, Chu Ruilin...

Fuck that man. He no longer wanted to think about him anymore.

Staying away from him for a while was a rather reasonable idea. He decided to listen to that man's advice for the first time.

So the young man silently, with a sincere heart started calculating exactly how long should he avoid meeting that man.

Should a week be enough? The hustle and bustle that is usually present at a newly wedded house should have also ended by that time. The wedding atmosphere should have cooled down. It would be the perfect time to meet that man again.

But perhaps a week was a little early? He had read on an online forum that a person can take anywhere from about 18 to over 250 days to break completely from a habit. The timeframe would vary from person to person.

And Chu Ruilin was a deeply ingrained habit of his. It should take him a rather longer timeframe to break free from him. So, 250 days then?

No but 250 days is really asking for his life.

That won't do. Let's be practical and settle for half then. 125 days? But 125 days consists of more than 4 months. This wouldn't do, either.

For Shen Zichen, mathematics had always been a sore point. He had only ever struggled with one thing in his entire school life. That one thing was - Mathematics.

Shen Zichen was the kind of student who'd score more than 95% with little efforts. He had always taken pride in this matter, as well.

This was until his maths teacher had covertly called him into her office to show him his answer sheet which was densely filled with red inked crosses and question marks.

He had failed in a subject for the very first time that day. Unfortunately for him his first time wasn't also going to be his last time as well. There would actually be a second time, third time and fourth time following as well.

That day he had come to the very cold realisation that a born genius like him actually had to study to score marks. His pride had taken a massive hit, shrinking like a deflated balloon.

So, the arithmetics pioneer Shen used some self made, nonsense arithematic formulas and reduced the duration of 4 months to 4 weeks somehow.

He still wasn't completely content with the conclusion but he decided to bite down on this bullet regardless. After all, beggars can't be choosers.

Hence, begun Shen Zichen's 4 weeks of trying to rehabilitate from the highly addictive, highly compelling and highly hazardous drug, 'Chu Ruilin'.

This journey was going to be a perilous one.
