Kain and Lucia were at the side of the window of Lucia's room before a group of wolves arrived riding horses.

"Who is that?" she asked, looking at Kain, who was standing near the door with his arms crossed.

"That is Alder, Alpha of the Black Ridge pack. He is an ally... or at least he was." Kain's jaw was tightened, and his expression was now darkened.

"What does he want?" The way he said it sent a very cold chill down her spine.

"We are about to find out," Kain said very harshly, leaving the door to meet those riders.
