The first Move

Chapter 61: The First Move

The war room was dimly lit, the torches were casting a very rough shadows over the faces of those that were gathering there.

The tension from the last meeting had not faded, it had just only increased.

Soren was standing at the edge of the table, his arms were crossed, his expression was unreadable.

"We have to strike first."

There was so much silence. Then...

"Absolutely not." Kain let out a very sharp breath, shaking his head.

"Sitting here, waiting for him to come to *us*, is just suicide." Soren's jaw tightened.

"And charging into his territory is not?" Kain's glare was very sharp.

Lucia studied her brother very carefully. There was an urgency in his voice, but under it, I mean under the frustration was just something else and that was fear.
