When cries of distress echoed from the hospital room, Robert, who had just returned from getting food, and the doctor rushed in simultaneously. They immediately noticed Rebecca's head injury, which was bleeding profusely. She was writhing on the floor in agony.
"What occurred here?"
I mumbled incoherently, "It's Rebecca, Robert. This was her method of apologizing to me."
Rebecca appeared terrified, her mouth quivering and unable to form words. She lost consciousness before the doctor could dress her wound. Robert seemed partially convinced by Rebecca's state. He merely observed as the doctor transferred her to another room. Unusually, he didn't follow them.
I turned to him and inquired, "Robert, aren't you going to check on her?"
Robert remained quiet. He then removed his coat and gently draped it over my shoulders.
"Angel, why are you so lightly dressed? You've always been sensitive to cold."
I found this incredibly amusing. He was well aware of my aversion to cold, yet he had heartlessly abandoned me in Antarctica for over two weeks. He didn't know I had been unconscious. Whether I felt cold or not was irrelevant. I casually took off the jacket and tossed it onto the hospital bed.
"I'm not cold, Robert. It would be better to give it to Rebecca; she might need it more."
I declined hospitalization, opting instead to take some medication and return to the Payne Family villa. Rebecca remained in the hospital. The driver mentioned to another that since her head injury, Rebecca had trouble sleeping each night.
She would awaken shortly after falling asleep, searching for Robert's company. I remained indifferent, believing he could spend time with whomever he chose.
After my return, Rebecca sent numerous photos and videos of her with Robert, attempting to upset me. However, I felt nothing. The day before Robert was to accompany Rebecca out of the hospital, I visited the wedding design company. Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff member.
"Ms. Angeline, are you here to collect your wedding dress? It was completed recently, and we were about to have it delivered to you."
The employee recognized me instantly. The custom wedding dress had cost 2 million. She approached me with a delighted expression.
I cut her off, saying, "That won't be necessary. I'm here to return the wedding dress. Not only that, but I also want to cancel this repeatedly postponed wedding."
The staff member looked uncomfortable. "But Ms. Angeline, are you certain you want to cancel the wedding dress design service? If you do, the deposit is non-refundable."
I replied, "That's fine. I'll pay the remaining balance as usual, just refund everything else."
After handling these matters, I left the Payne Family villa with my suitcase. I planned to move to an apartment near my workplace. My next objective was to focus on dealing with the Payne Family to reclaim everything that belonged to me. Meanwhile, Robert was still escorting Rebecca from the hospital. As he thought about seeing me at home, his steps unconsciously quickened.
"Angel, where are you?"
But in the next moment, Robert's joyful expression vanished. He searched the Payne Family villa multiple times but couldn't find me. He quickly became agitated.
"Robert, don't worry. Perhaps Ms. Angeline felt restless and went out for some fresh air or to shop," Rebecca suggested.
Before Rebecca could finish speaking, Robert's phone rang. "Mr. Robert, the staff informed me that the wedding rings and dress you asked me to collect have all been canceled and returned. Additionally, the wedding venue booked for two weeks from now has been canceled."
