Robert's expression changed abruptly. "What did you just say? Who's responsible for this?"
Before his assistant could respond, Robert's face turned stone-cold. He immediately added,
"Inform the wedding planner that we'll secure the venue and the bridal gown, regardless of the cost increase. Angel and I are set to marry in two weeks, as I promised her. We can't postpone it, no matter what. If there's any dispute about the venue, I'm willing to pay triple the price."
The assistant replied uncomfortably, "I'm sorry, Mr. Robert, but the wedding planner's staff stated that it was your fiancée, Ms. Angeline, who returned the wedding dress and rings, and also canceled the venue."
Robert's entire body tensed up. The teacup he was holding suddenly slipped from his grasp.
"What are you saying? That's impossible. Angeline has been eagerly waiting for years, determined to marry me. She even wanted to move the wedding date up. How could she possibly cancel it? You must be mistaken."
