I teetered the edge of curiosity and fear, my breath held captive in my lungs until they burned. “Do you wish to know your future?” He asked in a gentle tone.

Swallowing the doubt creeping into my mind, hesitant as the words slipped out. “Yes.”

He leaned in slightly, peering into my soul with softened eyes. Each colour glowed within the darkness, captivating me like a spell. Silence stretched between us, thickened by unspoken tension as he stared into my eyes – yet I couldn’t look away.

Thalion blinks, extinguishing the glow in his irises. “The future is unpredictable, written in sand and not stone.”

Puffing out my lips, humming a teasing tune. “I think I’m finally able to understand your poetic way of speaking.”

He chuckles, a flicker of amusement washing over his features. “My speech changes when I use my ability.”
