Lazarus De Loughrey
My brows furrowed, pulse spiking as I typed. “Who?”
It roared in my ears like a thunderstorm, brewing in my chest like a deadly poison that burned from the inside. Bellatrix responded within five seconds. “I cannot say until I have proof. If you chose to do your own investigation, you will find the evidence faster than me.”
I exhaled a sharp breath, every hair standing on edge as unease curdled in my chest. Bellatrix wouldn’t accuse anyone without evidence; however, the statement played on a loop. Within my trusted circle, a traitor was in the midst.
Fire blazed in the path of betrayal that seemed to follow me. The traitors in my army stemmed from the traitor within my inner circle, I knew it made sense but the fact that it has taken me this long to establish the connection aggravates me.
