In the novel, I remember reading that Elena never attended her lessons as a child because she found them "boring." As a result, she never met her tutor.
I glanced around the vast library and noticed a tall man with striking green eyes, long black hair tied back with a hair tie, and glasses perched on his nose.
He must be the teacher. We walked over to him, and as soon as he noticed us, he set a book down on the table.
His gaze lingered on me, full of judgment, no doubt because of the rumors surrounding Elena. But I wasn't going to act like her.
When we reached him, he bowed his head. I raised my hand slightly, gesturing for him to rise. He understood and lifted his head.
"Greetings, Your Highness, Elena Hikaruso. I will be your tutor from now on. Please, take a seat," he said formally.
I nodded and sat in the chair, noticing that Mary had already left the library, probably to run some errands.
"So, what's your name? I can't just keep calling you 'professor' without knowing your last name," I said, resting my chin on my hand.
He looked at me, then nodded. "Apologies. My name is Ethan Ramos. We'll begin with a quiz to assess your knowledge. Would you prefer the quiz or should we start with the basics, Your Highness?"
Ethan Ramos? I knew from the novel that when Elena grew older, he became the kingdom's most renowned professor. How lucky I was to have him as my tutor. A smile spread across my face.
But his question made me pause. Basics? Did he think I was some clueless child? Well, sure, I was new to this world, but I had enough knowledge to know better.
"I'll take the quiz, Mr. Ramos," I replied, deciding to prove him wrong.
Ethan nodded and placed a paper in front of me. "Take your time, Your Highness. I'll be waiting."
I grabbed the pen and looked at the paper. The first page had math equations, while the second page had history questions. I tilted my head, realizing I already knew most of the math. The history part was a bit confusing, but I recognized enough to answer a few questions.
A few minutes later, I finished and handed the paper to him. "Done," I said with a proud smile, sitting up straighter as I noticed his shocked expression.
"This is impossible... You're only seven years old. These are advanced math problems for teenagers," he muttered, adjusting his glasses. He looked back at the paper, still in disbelief.
I beamed with satisfaction.
"I think those rumors were a bit off," I said, feeling a little smug.
Ethan blinked, clearly stunned. "How could this child have solved these problems? He'd expected her to be like any other child... or worse."
I caught his mumbling and raised an eyebrow. "So, you judged me without actually knowing me?" I asked.
"I apologize for misjudging you, Your Highness. I was wrong to believe those rumors," he said, bowing his head in regret.
"It's alright," I smiled. "Just don't do it again, Mister."
He nodded, straightening up. "Understood. Now, shall we begin the history lessons?" He gathered a few books and placed them on my desk.
"We'll begin our lesson by exploring the power of the elements and the rise of each kingdom."
"Twelve thousand years ago, the world underwent a profound change. People discovered they had extraordinary abilities linked to the elements: air, fire, electricity, water, ice, nature, darkness, and light. These powers were tied to each person's aura, a unique energy field that attracted elemental forces. Around 80% of the global population began to manifest these abilities, dramatically transforming societies and shifting the balance of power. The early years were marked by chaos, as people struggled to control their powers and understand their connection to the elements. Some used their abilities for the greater good, while others sought to exploit them for personal gain, leading to conflicts and unrest."
Elemental powers? I couldn't help but wonder what type she possessed. I rested my hand on my cheek, listening intently.
"There were seven heroes, each wielding their own elemental power. These heroes were the first to master their abilities, using them to bring stability to a fractured world. Together, they decided to establish kingdoms, each representing their respective element, and became the rulers of their domains. The Kingdom of Fire, known for its fierce warriors; the Kingdom of Water, with its deep wisdom; the Kingdom of Earth, grounded in tradition; the Kingdom of Air, light and swift; the Kingdom of Nature, flourishing with life; the Kingdom of Ice, unyielding and cold; and the Kingdom of Light, a beacon of hope.
However, their greatest challenge came from the Dark Lord, a being of immense power who mastered the forbidden dark element. He sought nothing less than to control the world and bend the other elements to his will. The Dark Lord's ambition was boundless, and he waged war on the kingdoms, using his dark powers to manipulate the minds of those weak in spirit, turning them into his minions. But the seven heroes united, combining their elemental strengths in a final battle against him. With great sacrifice and determination, they defeated the Dark Lord, shattering his reign of terror."
In the aftermath, the dark elementals were either banished from the kingdoms or forced into hiding, for their desires were tainted by the corrupting influence of the Dark Lord's power. The remaining elemental kingdoms, now ruled by the seven heroes, established peace across the land. They forged an alliance, each kingdom maintaining its independence, but working together to ensure that the balance of the elements was never disturbed again. The legacy of the seven heroes lived on for generations, though rumors of dark elementals plotting in the shadows never quite faded.
Finally, Those seven heroes decided to give their right to rule over the kingdoms to their disciples. That's how you became a princess, Your Highness. Lesson for today is done."
He looked at me, as he closed the book, putting it on the table.
"That sure is alot to process." I yawned as I stood up. "Thanks for the lesson, Mr Ethen, I will go now." He nodded as he bowed his head as I left the library, Walking through the halls, Looking at the paintings.
I wonder where Mary is..
I pumped into someone, Making me stumble back a bit, "My bad." I looked at the person, My expression turned unsatisfied clearly to see Ray with Yami.
"Oh, It you, It's trash. Are you blind or something? Next time watch where you're going, Loser."
My eye twitched, annoyed from hearing him talk. He smirked as he crossed his arms.
I feel like punching the kid if he mocks me one more time…
"Are you deaf too? Talk to me, loser!"
I clenched my fist, as soon as he opened his mouth, I stumbled forward, My fist charging at his face, Landing a hit, Making Ray stumble back. Yami gasped. She quickly catched Ray.
"Brother! Are you okay?" Yami asked the brother, He held onto his cheek, he pushed yami out of the way, grabbing on my shirt collar with a furious expression, He raised his hand, about to me, I quickly closed my eyes.
Few seconds passed, Nothing happened. I opened my eyes, Seeing Blake gripping Ray's wrist, pushing him away slightly, making Ray remove his hand on the collar of my shirt.
"Enough Ray" Blake said firmly and calmly as he removed his hand from Ray's wrist, glancing at me and back at Ray. "Father would be disappointed to hear about this."
Ray looked down and clenched his hand, "You don't have to tell me that, I already know."
"Yami Take him somewhere to cool off his temper." He sighed as he ruffled his hair, Yami quickly nodded and grabbed Ray hand, Looking at him.
"Brother..Are you okay? Let's go back to your room okay?" Ray nodded at Yami's request, as they both walked away leaving Blake and me behind.
"And Elena, are you okay?"
'Did he care about Elena? I honestly never heard of their relationship in the novel..
"You didn't have to do that. I was fine handling it by myself." I looked at him. He was disbelieving at what I said.
"You were about to get hit. If i didn't step in, you would've been hurt."
"Why do you care?" I crossed my arms as I looked up at him.
"Well because.." He paused, not knowing what to say.
"Tell me when you know the answer. But thank you for your help I guess." I sighed as I walked away.
Now where is Mary…
My feet began to ache as I searched for Mary, but she was nowhere to be found in those endless hallways. Maybe she was in the garden or the kitchen. I examined each door, unsure of what lay behind them.
What if there was a torture room? Actually, I didn't want to even think about it. Why am I even thinking about that..
I crossed my arms, a chill running down my spine at the thought of a torture room hidden behind one of those doors.
I looked at a large door, and I opened it slowly as I peaked through it. It was outside of the castle. There was a stone tile path on the grass, I wonder where this is gonna take me..
I walked through the door and began following the stone tile, looking down, counting since I was beginning to feel bored. "5….6..7…8…9…10"
I bumped into someone, I accidentally fell causing me to close my eyes instantly , trying to stop myself from falling but the man grabbed my wrist and pulled me back up. As I opened my eyes, It was a tall muscular man, wearing a knight's outfit, he had an intimidating face.
"Thanks?" I said nervously as I fixed my hair. He looked at me up and down.
"Your highness..I apologize for not recognizing you..Greetings." He bowed his head.
"Ah it alright?" I looked around and back at him, Itching my hand slightly.
'Why is a knight in this area?'
"What brings you to the knight training grounds?" He asked with confusion and concern, I mean of course he would be confused and sounds so worried, The bratty princess suddenly going to the knight ground and might be concerned that the princess will fire all the knights here if she is unsatisfied/
"..I was just bor-"
"Nate!" Another man cut me off as he put an arm around Nate's shoulder, "What are you doing out of practice now? Are you skipping? I'm going to tell our captain about this" He said in a playful voice as he formed a smirk, His gaze suddenly dropped on me.
Nate looked at him and sighed, Nate's friend quickly removed his arm from Nate and bowed his head.
"Apologize for not realizing you are here..I hope you do-" Nate quickly covered his mouth.
"Pls forgive Kevin for cutting you off as well..Please continue.."
I looked at both of them, then looked past them, as I noticed knights dueling each other in the training grounds and back at them.
"I'm here to watch you guys!" I smiled innocently, wanting both of them on my side at least, or make my life easier if anything happened, it wouldn't hurt to have allies with a couple of knights.
They looked at me then at each other, They smiled. "Of Course your highness. Come on, How about this wonderful knight carrying you? I'm sure you're tired." Kevin requested with a grin on his face.
"No, how about I carry you instead?" Nate pushed Kevin to the side.
I looked startled, Confused on why they were acting like that.
Did my smile scare them or something? What's up with them? Although it would be nice for me not to walk but this is a bit embarrassing
"Uhh..Nate since I saw him first." I smiled embarrassingly as he quickly lifted me up and sat me on his shoulders, still holding me firmly but gentle so I would not fall off.
"Off we go to the training grounds, your highness!" As they walked to the training grounds, I couldn't help but feel weird and embarrassed about this.
Why did I say yes? But it feels comforting for some reason ..
"Her highness, Elena is here!"
The knights hestitaly looked at me, confused. They quickly greeted me with a confused expression on why these knights carried.
"Hi..Ahem.I'm just here watching you practice.." I said embarrassingly, Looking away from them.
"We are glad to have her highness watch us." a man said with a firm voice, he looked older than most knights and wearing a different uniform than others.
Is this the captain?..He looks like one..
"I apologize for those two young knights as they don't know how to treat her highness with respect." He glared at them. They laughed nervously. Nate slowly put me down.
"It's alright. I don't mind. It was nice being carried..i guess." I put my hand on the back of my hair as I formed a warm smile.
They all looked at me strangely like they saw some sort of cute cat, at least to me.
Is my smile this evil or something??
"That's great! If you ever feel like being carried. I as captain will fulfil my duty to protect you and carry you anytime as you wish." He started firmly as he guided me in a safe spot where I could watch them training safely.
