Chapter 16:Confronting the Truth

Aurélie felt like she had been living in a dream world, and Camille's revelations had shattered that dream into a million pieces. She couldn't believe that Max had deceived her so thoroughly.

As she sat in the café, staring at the photographs and articles, Aurélie felt a sense of anger and betrayal wash over her. She couldn't believe that she had given her heart to someone who didn't deserve it.

Camille put a hand on Aurélie's shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Aurélie," she said. "I know this must be painful for you."

Aurélie shook her head, trying to process her emotions. "I need to confront him," she said, her voice firm. "I need to know why he did this to me."

Camille nodded. "I'll go with you," she said. "We'll confront him together."

Aurélie stood up, feeling a sense of determination wash over her. She was ready to face Max and demand the truth.

As they walked to Max's apartment, Aurélie felt her heart pounding in her chest. She was scared, but she was also angry. She was ready to confront Max and make him pay for his deception.

When they arrived at Max's apartment, Aurélie took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Max answered, looking surprised to see Aurélie and Camille standing there.

"Aurélie, what's going on?" Max asked, his eyes narrowing.

Aurélie smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "I know everything, Max," she said. "I know about your wife, and I know about your lies."

Max's face went white, and he took a step back. "Aurélie, please listen..."

But Aurélie wasn't interested in listening. She was interested in confronting the truth, and making Max pay for his deception.
