Chapter 17:The Confrontation

Aurélie's eyes blazed with anger as she confronted Max. "You lied to me, Max," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "You told me you were single, that you were available. But it was all a lie, wasn't it?"

Max took a step back, his eyes darting between Aurélie and Camille. "Aurélie, please understand..."

But Aurélie wasn't interested in understanding. She was interested in confronting the truth, and making Max pay for his deception.

"You used me, Max," she said, her voice cold and detached. "You used me to satisfy your own desires, without any regard for my feelings or my well-being."

Max's face went white, and he looked like he had been punched in the gut. "Aurélie, that's not true," he said, his voice shaking. "I care about you, deeply. I was just... trapped in a bad situation, and I didn't know how to get out."

Aurélie laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Trapped?" she repeated. "You were trapped? You're the one who lied to me, Max. You're the one who deceived me. And now, you're trying to blame it on someone else?"

Max looked defeated, and he slumped against the wall, his eyes cast down at the floor. "I'm sorry, Aurélie," he whispered. "I'm so sorry."

But Aurélie wasn't interested in apologies. She was interested in justice, and in making Max pay for his deception.

"I never want to see you again, Max," she said, her voice cold and detached. "I never want to hear from you again. You're dead to me, Max. Dead."

And with that, Aurélie turned and walked away, leaving Max standing alone in his apartment, his eyes cast down at the floor in shame.
