Pierre called them later that day, his voice excited. "I think I've found something," he said. "A lead on the man who's been following you."
Léon's eyes locked onto Aurélie's, his face tense with anticipation. "What is it?" he asked.
Pierre hesitated, his voice cautious. "I'm not sure I should tell you over the phone," he said. "But I think it's safe to say that we're dealing with a very organized and very ruthless group of people."
Aurélie's heart skipped a beat as she processed Pierre's words. What kind of group would be so ruthless?
Léon's face was grim, his eyes narrowed. "We need to know more," he said. "Can we come see you?"
Pierre agreed, and they made plans to meet at his office the next day.
As they hung up the phone, Aurélie turned to Léon, her eyes wide with fear. "What are we dealing with?" she asked.
Léon's face was grim, his eyes serious. "I don't know," he said. "But we're going to find out."
The next day, they met with Pierre at his office. He showed them a file, filled with photographs and documents.
As they looked through the file, Aurélie's eyes widened in shock. The man who had been following them was a member of a powerful crime syndicate.
Léon's face was grim, his eyes narrowed. "We need to get out of here," he said. "Now."
But as they turned to leave, Aurélie saw something that made her heart skip a beat. A photograph of a woman, with a name scribbled underneath.
Aurélie's eyes locked onto the photograph, her mind racing with questions. Who was this woman? And what did she have to do with the crime syndicate?
