Chapter 27: A New Lead

Pierre nodded, his eyes serious. "I'll start investigating right away," he said. "But I need you both to be careful. If these people are as dangerous as you say, we don't know what they're capable of."

Léon nodded, his face grim. "We'll be careful," he said. "But we need to know what's going on. Can you keep us updated on your investigation?"

Pierre nodded. "Of course," he said. "I'll keep you both informed every step of the way."

As they left Pierre's office, Aurélie felt a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they would finally be able to uncover the truth and bring an end to the danger that had been lurking in the shadows.

But as they walked out of the police station, Aurélie noticed a strange man watching them from across the street. He was tall and lean, with a scar above his left eyebrow.

Aurélie's heart skipped a beat as she realized that she had seen him before. He was the same man who had been following them the night before.

"Léon, look," Aurélie whispered, nodding towards the man.

Léon's eyes narrowed as he followed her gaze. "That's him," he said, his voice low. "The man who's been following us."

Aurélie's heart was racing with fear. What did this man want? And how were they going to stop him?

As they watched, the man turned and disappeared into the crowd. Aurélie felt a sense of relief, but she knew that it was only temporary.

They had to find out who this man was and what he wanted. And they had to do it before it was too late.
