Chapter 26: A plan of Action

Léon and Aurélie sat down at the kitchen table, determined to come up with a plan to protect themselves.

"We need to go to the authorities," Aurélie said, her voice firm. "We can't deal with this on our own."

Léon nodded, his eyes serious. "I agree," he said. "But we have to be careful. If the wrong people find out, it could put us in even greater danger."

Aurélie's eyes widened as she realized the risk. "What can we do, then?" she asked.

Léon thought for a moment before speaking. "I have a contact in the police department," he said. "Someone I trust. We can go to him, and he can help us figure out what to do next."

Aurélie nodded, feeling a sense of hope. "Let's do it," she said.

Léon stood up, his eyes locked onto hers. "We'll do it together," he said. "We'll face whatever comes next, together."

As they hugged, Aurélie felt a sense of determination wash over her. They were in this together, and they would get through it together.

The next day, Léon and Aurélie met with Léon's contact, a detective named Pierre. Pierre was a kind, no-nonsense man with a warm smile.

"Tell me everything," Pierre said, his eyes locked onto Léon's.

Léon took a deep breath and began to explain, telling Pierre about his past and the danger that had followed him to Paris.

As Léon spoke, Aurélie watched Pierre's face, seeing the concern and determination there.

When Léon finished speaking, Pierre nodded, his eyes serious. "We'll do everything we can to protect you," he said. "But we need to be careful. We don't know who we're dealing with, or what they're capable of."

Aurélie felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized the gravity of their situation.

But with Pierre on their side, she felt a sense of hope. They would get through this, together.
