FIRST EXPERIENCE AT OAU

As the day of resumption approached, the parents of the four friends had discussed and decided to hire a bus to take them to school. Iyiola's mum had kindly offered to escort them to school, ensuring their safe arrival.

On the morning of their departure, the four friends were buzzing with excitement. They had packed their bags, said their goodbyes, and were now gathered at Chris's house, waiting for the bus to arrive. As they chatted and laughed, Iyiola's mum arrived, accompanied by the bus driver.

The friends quickly loaded their luggage onto the bus and climbed aboard. As they settled into their seats, Iyiola's mum handed each of them a small package. "These are some snacks and drinks for the journey," she explained. "And don't forget to call me as soon as you arrive."

The friends thanked her and hugged her goodbye. As the bus pulled away from the curb, they waved enthusiastically at Iyiola's mum, who was watching them leave with a mixture of sadness and pride.

The journey to OAU was long and tiring, but the friends chatted and laughed together, making the time pass quickly. As they approached the university campus, they could feel their excitement building.

Finally, the bus pulled up in front of the university's main gate. The friends gathered their belongings and climbed down from the bus, stretching their legs and looking around at their new surroundings.

As they made their way to their respective hostels, the friends separated into pairs. Amaka and Iyiola, who had already rented an apartment together as roommates, headed to their hostel, which was conveniently located near the school.

Enoch and Chris, who had also rented an apartment together, made their way to their hostel, eager to settle in and start their university journey.

The next morning, Enoch and Chris waited patiently for Amaka and Iyiola at the agreed meeting spot. They had planned to meet at 7:00 am, but the girls were running late.

"I thought we agreed to meet at 7:00 am?" Enoch said, checking his watch for the umpteenth time.

Chris shrugged. "I know, right? I'm starting to think they forgot."

Just then, Amaka and Iyiola appeared, looking apologetic.

"Sorry, guys," Amaka said, out of breath. "We overslept."

Iyiola nodded in agreement. "And then we had to rush to get ready."

The boys teased them good-naturedly about their tardiness, but they were all relieved to be together again.

After a quick breakfast, they set off for the university campus, each carrying their admission letters, JAMB results, and other necessary documents.

As they arrived on campus, they separated ways, each heading to their respective department to begin their registration.

"We will all meet at home after registration" Chris suggested.

"Sure" the rest Chorused.

Iyiola made her way to the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Amaka headed to the Department of Pharmacy, while Enoch and Chris went to the department of Mechatronics Engineering and Physical Science, respectively.

Iyiola joined the queue for her faculty, patiently waiting for her turn to register. As she waited, she noticed a guy staring at her from across the room. She tried to ignore him, focusing on her phone instead. But the guy couldn't take his eyes off her. He was drawn to her beauty, and he couldn't help but feel an instant attraction.

After a few minutes, the guy finally worked up the courage to approach Iyiola. He walked up to her, flashing a charming smile. "Hi, my name is Yemi," he said, extending his hand. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the room. You're absolutely stunning."

Iyiola was taken aback by Yemi's forwardness, but she tried to be polite. "Thank you, Yemi," she said, shaking his hand briefly. "I'm Iyiola."

Yemi continued to chat with Iyiola, trying to draw her into conversation. But Iyiola was hesitant to engage with him, knowing she was already in a relationship, and not ready to shatter Enoch's heart. She politely listened to him, nodding and smiling, but she didn't reveal much about herself.

As they chatted, Yemi asked Iyiola for her contact information. "Can I get your number?" he asked, his eyes locked on hers. "I'd love to get to know you better."

Iyiola hesitated, unsure of how to respond. She didn't want to be rude, but she didn't want to give out her number to a stranger either. "I'm sorry, Yemi," she said finally, smiling apologetically. "I don't give out my number to people I've just met."

Yemi looked disappointed, but he tried to hide it. "No worries, Iyiola," he said, smiling again. "Maybe I'll see you around campus then."

Iyiola nodded, relieved that the conversation was over. "Yeah, maybe," she said, turning back to her registration form.

As Yemi walked away, Iyiola couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. She was glad that she had stood her ground and refused to give out her number. She was determined to focus on her studies and be faithful to her relationship.

With renewed determination, Iyiola continued with her registration, eager to start her university journey on a positive note.

Iyiola pulled out her phone and dialed Enoch's number. "Hey, how's your registration going?" she asked when he picked up.

"It's going well," Enoch replied. "Just waiting in line to submit my forms. How about you?"

"I've already finished mine," Iyiola said. "I was thinking of grabbing a snack at the Relaxation center nearby. Want to meet me there?"

Enoch's department wasn't far from Iyiola's, so they agreed to meet at the Relaxation center in 20 minutes.

Iyiola arrived at the center first and grabbed a table by the window. The warm sunlight streaming through the glass highlighted the vibrant colors of the center's decor, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, enticing her senses. She bought a Pepsi drink along with her snack and was sipping her drink when Enoch walked in.

As Enoch approached the table, His eyes sparkled as he smiled at her, and his broad shoulders seemed to fill the space around him. She felt a flutter in her chest, and her palms grew slightly sweaty.

"Hey, sorry I'm late, babe," Enoch said, dropping into the chair across from Iyiola. His deep voice sent a shiver down her spine.

"No worries, I just got here, babe," Iyiola replied, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in her stomach.

As they chatted, Iyiola found herself feeling more and more at ease with Enoch. They talked about everything from their registration experiences , and Iyiola was struck by how relaxing it was to talk to him.

Just as they were getting into a comfortable conversation, a guy walked into the cafe and caught Iyiola's eye. It was Yemi, the guy who had approached her earlier that day. Iyiola felt a slight pang of guilt as she met Yemi's gaze. She hadn't expected to run into him again, and she wasn't sure how to react.

Her mind racing, Iyiola turned to Enoch and whispered, "Babe, I got a gist for you, but before that, what of Amaka and Chris?

"I called Chris before I came here and he said he's almost done with his registration, but I don't know about Amaka." he said.

"Maybe we'll meet at home. Back to my gist!" Iyiola whispered.

Enoch's curiosity was piqued. "Gist me," he whispered back, his eyes locked on hers.

Iyiola nodded discreetly toward Yemi. "Look at that guy at your left-hand side."

Enoch didn't hesitate to look, unsure of what she wanted to say. "The guy putting on a black top?" he asked, his voice low.

Iyiola nodded, her eyes never leaving Enoch's face. "Yeah, babe."

Enoch's expression turned serious. "So, what's wrong with him?" he asked, his voice tinged with a hint of possessiveness.

Iyiola smiled as she met Enoch's gaze. She could see the faintest glimmer of jealousy in his eyes, and it made her feel a thrill of excitement.

"During my registration, he came to talk to me, begging for my phone number," Iyiola said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Enoch's eyes narrowed slightly, but he said nothing. Instead, he reached out and took Iyiola's hand, his fingers intertwining with hers in a gentle but possessive gesture.

Iyiola felt a rush of emotions as she met Enoch's gaze. She knew that she had made the right choice in choosing him, and she was determined to make their relationship work.

But just as they were lost in their own little world, Yemi appeared at their table, a charming smile spreading across his face.

Iyiola's heart sank, as she felt Enoch's grip on her hand tighten. She knew that this was going to be interesting…
