UNIVERSITY LIFE UNFOLDS

Enoch's voice snapped Iyiola back to reality. "What's wrong?" he asked, noticing her distant gaze.

Iyiola's eyes refocused, and she stuttered, "What...what...ehhhhn." She became aware of her surroundings, feeling a flush rise to her cheeks.

Enoch's concern deepened. "What were you thinking about?"

Iyiola attempted to brush it off, "Was I thinking?" She teased, then hesitated, "I was thinking about...ehhhm...our..." She trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

Enoch's eyes narrowed. "I don't know what came over you, and..." Iyiola cut him off, "It's nothing, babe, just thinking about something."

Enoch checked his phone, "Time has gone." Iyiola's attention drifted back to Yemi, who was still staring at her from across the room.

Enoch followed her gaze, his expression turning serious. "Is that not the guy you said came to ask for your number?"

Iyiola nodded, feeling a twinge of guilt. "Yeah, he's the one."

Enoch's eyes locked onto Yemi, his voice low. "So, why is he staring at you from there?"

Iyiola shrugged, trying to downplay the situation. "I don't understand oo."

Enoch's gaze lingered on Yemi for a moment before turning back to Iyiola. "I think we should leave now. Chris and Amaka might be waiting for us."

Iyiola agreed, relieved to escape the awkward situation. They gathered their belongings and left the Relaxation center.

Meanwhile, Chris was getting anxious, glancing at the clock on the wall. He had been home for 30 minutes, and Enoch was nowhere to be found. He dialed Amaka's number, asking if Enoch was with her and Iyiola.

Amaka replied, "No, I didn't meet her at home since I came."

Chris's concern deepened. "Ohhh, don't worry, I'll call Enoch and ask."

Just then, Enoch walked in, holding a bag of popcorn. "How far, guy!" Chris exclaimed, still on the call with Amaka.

Enoch plopped down on the bed, "I just dey."

Chris asked, "Is Enoch back?" Amaka inquired, hearing Chris mention Enoch's name.

"Yeah, has Iyiola gotten home?" Chris asked.

Amaka replied, "No, she hasn't gotten here."

Chris turned to Enoch, "Where's Iyiola?"

Enoch's response was nonchalant. "I left her."

Chris's eyes widened in shock. "You did what?!" Amaka echoed, her voice laced with concern.

Enoch burst out laughing. "Just joking, I caught you guys! We just departed, and she should be almost home now."

Chris and Amaka exhaled a collective sigh of relief. "You're not serious," they chimed in unison.

Amaka added, "She just entered now."

Enoch's laughter continued, "Gotcha!"

As the days went by, Chris and Enoch couldn't stop joking about their registration experiences. "I swear, I thought I was going to lose my mind in that queue," Chris chuckled. Enoch grinned mischievously. "At least you didn't have to deal with a crush trying to get your number." Chris playfully rolled his eyes. "You and your drama, Enoch."

The light-hearted banter faded as the four friends dove headfirst into their academic pursuits. The first week of lectures had begun, and they were determined to make a strong start. Every morning, they would meet up at the university gate, exchange warm smiles, and head off to their respective departments.

Iyiola, ever the diligent student, would arrive at her Biomedical Engineering lectures bright and early, armed with a steaming cup of coffee and a notebook full of neatly organized notes. Amaka, on the other hand, would saunter into her Pharmacy lectures with a confident air, her hair perfectly styled and her makeup flawlessly applied.

Chris and Enoch, meanwhile, would attend their Mechatronics Engineering and Physical Science lectures with a sense of camaraderie, often sneaking in jokes and humorous asides whenever the lecturer's back was turned.

Despite their different academic pursuits, the four friends shared a common vision: to graduate with First Class honors in their respective departments. They were determined to work hard, support each other, and make their university experience a memorable one.

One sunny afternoon, Chris emerged from his lecture room, feeling invigorated after a particularly engaging discussion on robotics. As he walked down the corridor, he noticed a girl standing by the window, looking lost. She glanced up, caught his eye, and smiled hesitantly.

"Please, I'm looking for the way to the Administration block," she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty.

Chris's helpful nature kicked in, and he smiled warmly. "That's where I'm heading to now, to sign a file. I can show you the way."

The girl's face lit up with gratitude. "Same here," she replied, falling into step beside Chris.

As they walked, Chris couldn't help but notice the girl's quirky sense of style – her bright pink sneakers and colorful scarf added a pop of color to the drab university corridors.

"So, what's your name?" Chris asked, trying to sound casual.

"I'm Roseline," the girl replied, her eyes sparkling with friendliness.

As they strolled, Chris and Roseline chatted about everything from their courses to their favorite hobbies. Chris found himself feeling drawn to Roseline's warm and bubbly personality.

On their way, they ran into Enoch, who exchanged pleasantries with Chris before heading off in a separate direction. "Hey, man, what's up?" Enoch asked, flashing a quick smile.

"Not much, just showing Roseline here the way to the Admin block," Chris replied.

Enoch nodded and winked. "Nice meeting you, Roseline. Maybe I'll see you around."

Roseline smiled and waved goodbye as Enoch disappeared into the crowd.

As Chris and Roseline continued on their way, Chris realized that he didn't want their conversation to end. "Hey, Roseline, would you like to exchange numbers?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Roseline's face lit up. "I'd love to."

Chris grinned, feeling elated as they exchanged numbers. As they parted ways outside the Administration block, Chris couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. He looked forward to seeing Roseline again soon.

"Thanks for showing me the way, Chris," Roseline said, smiling warmly.

"No problem, Roseline. Maybe we'll run into each other again soon?" Chris replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

Roseline's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I'd like that."

As Roseline disappeared into the crowd, Chris couldn't help but smile. He felt a sense of excitement and anticipation, wondering what other adventures lay ahead.

Chris walked back to his hostel, feeling elated after his encounter with Roseline. He couldn't stop thinking about her bright smile and infectious laughter.

As he entered his room, he found Enoch lounging on his bed, scrolling through his phone. "Hey, man, how was your day?" Enoch asked, not looking up.

Chris flopped down onto his bed, grinning. "It was great. I met a girl named Roseline, and we had a really nice conversation."

Enoch's eyes lit up with interest. "Roseline, huh? The girl we met on the way to the Admin block?"

Chris nodded. "Yeah, that's the one."

Enoch chuckled. "I knew you two would hit it off. She seemed really nice."

Chris launched into a detailed description of Roseline, from her quirky sense of style to her passion for computer science. Enoch listened intently, a knowing glint in his eye.

"I think you're smitten, Chris," Enoch teased, chuckling.

Chris playfully rolled his eyes. "Shut up, Enoch."

Just then, Chris's phone buzzed with a text from Roseline. "Hey, Chris, it was really nice meeting you today."

Chris's heart skipped a beat as he read the message. He couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement.

"Looks like someone's got a crush," Enoch said, grinning mischievously.

Chris just laughed, feeling happy and carefree.

As the days went by, the four friends remained committed to their academic pursuits, diligently reading and studying their books. They were also known for their exceptional teamwork, often collaborating on group projects and supporting each other through thick and thin. Additionally, they had developed a strong sense of camaraderie, frequently engaging in lively debates, sharing humorous anecdotes, and exploring the campus together.

Enoch and Iyiola's love continued to flourish, a beacon of hope and inspiration to their friends. One evening, as they strolled through the campus gardens, Enoch surprised Iyiola with a heartfelt poem he had written especially for her.

"Iyiola, my love, my shining star,

You light up my world from near and far.

In your eyes, my heart finds a home,

With you, I am never alone."

Iyiola's eyes welled up with tears as she listened to Enoch's heartfelt words. She felt grateful for his love and affection, and she knew that their bond would only continue to grow stronger.

With only two days left until Freshers' Night, the excitement on campus was palpable. The four friends had been looking forward to this event for weeks, and they were determined to make it a night to remember.

On the day of the General Lecture, the four friends sat together, eager to learn more about the university's policies and regulations. As the lecture drew to a close, Chris's attention began to wander, and his eyes scanned the crowded auditorium. That's when he saw her – Roseline, the beautiful Computer Science student he had met a few days ago.

As the lecture ended, Chris, Enoch, Iyiola, and Amaka filed out of the auditorium, chatting about their plans for the evening. Chris's friends were engrossed in their conversation, oblivious to the fact that Chris's attention had been diverted.

"Hey, guys, I'll catch up with you later," Chris said, trying to sound casual.

Enoch raised an eyebrow. "Where are you off to, Chris?"

Chris hesitated for a moment before responding. "I'll just go say hi to Roseline. We were supposed to meet up after lecture."

Iyiola smiled knowingly. "Go ahead, Chris. We'll see you later."

As Chris walked away, Enoch called out, "Don't forget about Freshers' Night, Chris! We're all meeting up at 7 pm."

Chris waved in response, his heart racing with excitement as he approached Roseline.

"Hey, Roseline! I'm so glad I ran into you," Chris said, trying to sound suave.

Roseline smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me."

Chris chuckled. "Never. So, what do you say we grab some coffee and catch up?"

As they strolled through the campus, Chris and Roseline engaged in easy conversation, discussing everything from their courses to their favorite hobbies.

As the sun began to set, Chris realized that he had to convince Roseline to attend Freshers' Night.

"Roseline, I have to ask you something," Chris said, his voice filled with excitement.

"What is it?" Roseline replied, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"I was wondering if you'd like to attend Freshers' Night with me," Chris asked, trying to sound casual.

Roseline's expression turned thoughtful. "I don't know, Chris. I'm not really sure if I'm ready for a big party like that."

Chris's face fell, but he refused to give up. "Come on, Roseline! It'll be fun, I promise. We can meet up with my friends, and we'll all hang out together."

Roseline hesitated, clearly torn.

Just as Chris was about to give up, Roseline's face broke into a radiant smile.

"Okay, fine. I'll come to Freshers' Night with you."

Chris's heart soared as he grinned triumphantly.

"But there's one condition," Roseline added, her eyes glinting with mischief.

"What's that?" Chris asked, his curiosity piqued.

Roseline leaned in close, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I want you to promise me that you'll dance with me all night."

Chris's heart skipped a beat as he met Roseline's gaze.

"I promise," Chris replied, his voice filled with conviction.

As they sealed their pact with a smile, Chris couldn't shake off the feeling that this was going to be a night to remember…
