"First!"

After taking out one target, Lisa silently noted in her mind and then shifted her scope to find the next target.

There were five Nen users in the group they were hunting, two of whom were C-level criminals—the targets of Ethan and his team.

"Damn it, there's someone else! Be wary of long-range attacks!" one of the Nen users shouted.

"It's a sniper attack. There's someone on the other side."

"Damn it, you guys follow me! Let's take out the enemies hiding in the distance," another commanded angrily, gathering some men to charge toward the sniper's location.

Bang...

The strategy of the Shadow Soldiers altered abruptly. They abandoned their current opponents and focused their assault on one of the Nen users.

This individual was another C-level criminal within the group.

With swift movements and sharp military spikes, this C-level criminal, just a third-rate Nen user, was quickly overwhelmed by the shadow soldiers.

In a brief encounter, a military spike tore through the opponent's Nen defense and plunged into his throat.

The two targets were taken down by Lisa and Mia, respectively.

After completing the hunt, Mia recalled the shadow soldiers, allowing them to dissipate into the air.

"Let's go!"

Lisa witnessed through her scope that Mia had taken down the other target as well; she returned her arms to their original state.

Ignoring the approaching adversaries, Ethan, who was on alert, signaled the group to leave without delay.

Their targets were solely the criminals.

Once the targets were neutralized, there was no need to waste time on others.

By the time the remaining Nen user arrived with his men, Ethan and the group had already vanished, leaving them to roar in frustration.

That night, after advancing their progress on [Crime Nemesis 1] by several steps, Ethan and the others returned to their residence in Meteor Street's inner city.

Knock, knock, knock...

After having dinner and just as Ethan and the others were preparing to practice as usual before resting, there was a knock on the door.

The three in the living room paused. Ethan glanced at Mia and Lisa before heading toward the door.

Opening it, he found a man in his early thirties standing there.

"Who are you?" Ethan asked, puzzled.

The man wasn't someone Ethan recognized, nor did he seem to live nearby; otherwise, Ethan, with his sharp memory, would have recognized him.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Frieza. My name is Sandy..." the man introduced himself with a smile.

When operating in a place like Meteor Street, Ethan naturally used an alias: Frieza.

After introducing himself, Sandy revealed his identity and purpose: recruitment.

As previously mentioned, the elders of Meteor Street, to consolidate and expand their power, sought to recruit talented individuals.

This recruitment extended beyond just criminals to include all of Meteor Street.

According to Sandy, he was under the command of a Meteor Street elder and had come specifically to recruit Ethan.

As for why they targeted Ethan, though Sandy didn't say it outright, Ethan could infer from the context.

During their hunts in the nearby garbage mountains, despite mostly targeting weak C-class criminals, their activities hadn't gone unnoticed.

With the elders' influence in Meteor Street, it wasn't hard for them to detect Ethan's operations.

"Mr. Frieza should give it some thought. Our elders are always interested in talent. If you join us, you'll receive generous treatment," Sandy said enthusiastically.

"Alright, I'll consider it," Ethan replied thoughtfully, nodding and smiling.

"Very well, here's my card. You can contact me once you've decided." Sandy handed over a business card.

After Ethan took it, Sandy turned to leave, and Ethan closed the door behind him.

"It seems our recent actions have caught the attention of those in charge of Meteor Street," Lisa remarked, sitting on the armrest of the sofa, deep in thought.

"This is expected. Even if we're mainly hunting C-class criminals, taking down so many was bound to get noticed," Mia added softly.

Ethan sat on the sofa, lit a cigarette from the pack on the coffee table, and took a drag.

"This kind of thing is unavoidable. I suspect others might approach us as well. Like this one, he had a good attitude. But if someone tougher comes along, conflict might be inevitable," Ethan mused calmly, exhaling smoke.

Joining them was out of the question.

His consideration was merely a delay tactic.

Not only did Ethan have no intention of settling in Meteor Street, but he also wasn't one to submit to others.

He was also prepared for the worst-case scenario.

"While the elders of Meteor Street operate independently, they are also interconnected. If a conflict arises, even if it starts with just one, it might eventually involve the entire Council of Elders," Lisa warned, frowning.

"Then we should leave before they unite. A conflict with these elders might not be entirely negative," Ethan thought aloud, a mysterious smile forming on his lips.
