Back to the grind

Riley had a great time with his family the following days. He still thought about calling Diogo and ask him about what Kiara told him about but he thought it wasn't a pressing issue.

Kiara was a little reluctant to let Riley go back to Germany because they have gotten a little closer. She even thought about getting Sam to decline Dortmund's contract offer in favour of teams in England but she knew better than to get involved in this.

Ruth was worse than Kiara, she wanted to uproot the whole family from England to Germany because she didn't want Riley being alone. Riley had a good laugh at his grandma's antics.

-28 December 2022-

Riley was at the airport facing his mother, grandma and the twins.

"I'll see you guys whenever possible." Riley said. Alisha and Aaliyah had tears in their eyes. They didn't want to part with this big brother of theirs. Riley felt bad and hoped he could see his cute sisters everyday.

"I'm going to need you to call me everyday. This grandpa Nux, I also want his numbers so he can keep me updated on you." Ruth commanded. 'Not sure grandpa will like that.' Riley thought but he nodded to his grandma.

Kiara could only chuckle at her mother's behaviour but then her face turned serious. "You should give your father a call." She said. Riley looked at her for a while and could only nod. The time for Riley to depart was getting closer and he said his goodbyes to his family. Riley boarded the plane when it arrived and as soon as he got comfortable, he opened some anime. It's been a while and he needed to catch up, 'The Wano arc awaits. Hahahaha'

-Dortmund-

Riley's plane landed in Dortmund and he quickly left the airport by calling an uber since he didn't want to inconvenience grandpa Nux. As Riley was in the car his phone vibrated. Quickly picking it up he saw it was a message from his best friend, Andre.

Riley after getting his social media started quickly followed Andre and they have been talking ever since. He was doing great in Portugal and always urged him to visit. Riley promised to visit some other time since he was a bit busy.

The car pulled up at his destination, grandpa Nux's house. Riley payed the guy and made his way inside. He heard frantic steps all of a sudden, obviously someone was coming to him and that person was running. The door opened and Riley could see a little boy. Jaco seeing the guy he hasn't seen in days ran to him and his eyes flashed with a dangerous glint. Riley seeing this had an ominous feeling. 'This guy is still watching WWE?' Riley thought. Jaco speared him to the grass and he stood up, satisfied with his work, "Acknowledge me!" He screamed.

Riley settled in at grandpa Nux's house in the following days. They were due back to practice on the 5th of the new year. Riley couldn't wait. Sam had landed and contract negotiations with the club would have to resume soon. Riley didn't care about that since she was sure Sam would handle that and all he had to do was sign.

The 5th of January quickly came and Riley was already in the training pitch juggling the ball. He was the first one to come this morning. Riley was itching to get back on the scheduled matches, he had talked to Coach Mike during the holidays, the man hoping to entice Riley to sign the contract. He had let slip that the club were hoping to fast track him to the senior side and he liked that.

The other players came in and were not suprised seeing Riley being the first one in. August quickly joined him after seeing him. The two caught up and August liked the fact that Riley was no longer cold. After Kiara's visit for the first time, Riley's personality had turned cold and he treated almost everyone like dust, but now he was happy to see he has at least reverted to the Riley he knew.

Coach Mike had arrived and made the players do a couple of drills and they played a scrimmage to get rid of some holiday blues. Riley was dominating as usual until he suffered a tackle from Nnamdi that forced him to stay down for a while and got the coaching stuff worried. Riley was a little dizzy and seeing stars. All of a sudden he heard a 'ding' sound.
