Spectator at Villa Park

The following day the people in the Johnson household woke up and had their breakfast. Today was matchday and Aston Villa were hosting Liverpool. Riley and Taylor were set to go and watch that match, with a gurdian organised by Dave.

The match was being played tonight so they had to leave a little bit earlier since it was a little further away from where they were. Kiara gave them the tickets and the twins grumbled because they wanted to go too but their mother told them they could once they have grown up.

Riley's group arrived in Birmingham and it was a sight. Riley liked the look of the city and Taylor was beside him excited. Riley at first didn't like going with Taylor because he was acting weird in her presence. He was losing his composure and kept being embarrassed. He knew exactly what was going on and couldn't help but feel frustrated at what his mother was trying to do. 'I have no time for being lovey dovey.' He thought.

Taylor not knowing what was going on in his head had just settled in the hotel they booked which was near the stadium. John, the guardian offered them the Liverpool jersey's Dave had bought for them.

Finally the match was only and hour away. John and the two kids had eaten a light meal and were now ready to leave. They left and as they were on their way inside they saw the Liverpool team bus arrived, the three went to join the fans who were near the entrance.

The Liverpool players descended the bus and smiled at their fans and greeted them. Riley's eyes shined when he saw these players who played for his favourite football club. Taylor took out her phone to take a video as the players went past them and waved at them.

Riley saw Liverpool's ace, Mohammed Salah. Riley wished that Salah could hang a bit longer at this club and maybe retire here because he dreamed to play with him. 'One of Liverpool's great.' He muttered. Salah as if sensing a gaze directed at him looked over and saw Riley, he waved at him and Riley waved back. Finally the bus was empty and and the players had made it to the away team's locker room.

Riley and the two people with him found their seats at the away end. They started chatting lively with the people as the players came out for warm ups. Taylor kept pulling Riley closer to get pictures. Riley reluctantly agreed in the end, John just smiled seeing this, 'kids.' He sighed.

The match was about to start as the players emerged from the tunnel. A deafening roar came from the crowd. Riley standing from his seat started having goosebumps. 'One day I'll be the one they are roaring for.' He thought.

The match got under way and Liverpool were all over Villa from the get go. They overwhelmed Villa so much that Mo Salah opened the scoring at only 5 minutes. Klopp on the sidelines went wild with his stuff.

The away end was buzzing that goal settled all the nerves they had coming to this game. They started singing at the top of their lungs. The match after that goal went to a stalemate. It was a good watch. Liverpool added a second goal in the 37th minute when Virgil Van Dijk scored.

That goal just before half time deflated the home team as they thought it was all over. Riley was watching and analysing the play. He was totally impressed by Trent Alexander-Arnold, 'Modern day fullbacks are fascinating.' Riley thought.

Half time came and you could almost see the relief in the eyes of the Aston Villa players. Taylor asked Riley to accompany her to the popcorn stands and John went with them. He had to keep them safe. Riley was having a blast.

Second half started and the home team started with a little bit of vigor and Liverpool were a little taken aback by that. Villa's pressure paid off as their trusty #11, Ollie Watkins finished off a great move. That goal invigorated the stadium as the home fans roared back to life. The away end started losing their voices but only a few did. Riley was frowning because he felt that goal was avoidable.

Riley watched John celebrating that goal and he could swear the people around were looking at him with a dangerous glint in their eyes. "Bet?" Riley asked and John looked around nervously as he nodded, "Yes. Both teams to score." He answered. Riley chuckled.

The match was in a stalemate again until just 9 minutes from the 90 when teenage sensation, Stefan Bajcetic scored his first goal for the club. Riley roared with the away fans and Taylor couldn't help but let loose herself.

The match went on for a while and it finished with Liverpool securing a win and grabbing all 3 points. The Liverpool players came over to applaud the away end and thank them for their support. Riley, Taylor and John left but if one were to look closely at Riley, you could see determination written all over his face.

'Not far from now. Not very far, I will also have people singing my name.'
