Chapter 508: Takuya: Are Your Villages Trying to Cause Trouble in Konoha?
Throwing a few punches wouldn't make a difference, not even going berserk would change the outcome.
A had become nothing more than a punching bag. While Nawaki couldn't even take one hit from Snowy's tail, A could. Not only that, but he could endure quite the beating.
After going berserk, A's speed, strength, and even his defense all increased dramatically.
The Third Raikage could fight the Eight-Tails head-on. While A wasn't on that level, his body's durability far exceeded that of any ordinary shinobi.
Under normal circumstances, this toughness would be an advantage—resilient, hard to injure, and able to outlast opponents.
But right now... that very advantage had turned into a disadvantage.
Having such tough skin and thick muscles only meant A was harder to knock down, effectively turning him into the perfect punching bag.
"Damn it!!!"
Taking a beating was one thing, but being beaten while being scolded—by a fox, no less—was unbearable.
If it had been a person, A might have endured the humiliation.
But being scolded and pummeled by a fox? That was something else entirely.
Gritting his teeth, A blocked one of Snowy's tails and prepared to counterattack. But before he could, another tail whipped down, slamming him right on the forehead.
Even with his tough body and astonishing defense, the impact left A's mind blank, a buzzing noise filling his head as he momentarily lost awareness.
"You still dare to talk back?"
Hearing A's muffled curses, Snowy grew even angrier. Her nine tails lashed out faster and harder, creating an almost imperceptible blur of white as they struck. A, lying helplessly on the ground, endured the unrelenting assault.
Whap! Whap!
The sound of tails striking echoed through the entire training ground, leaving countless spectators stunned.
"Stop, I…"
Whap!
"I…"
Whap!!
A tried to say something, but Snowy gave him no chance to speak.
In Snowy's view, her task wasn't finished. A's foul mouth only infuriated her further.
Since he enjoyed cursing so much, Snowy decided to target his mouth specifically!
And so, the places where A was struck increased significantly.
Was this truly a clash between the new-generation geniuses of two great shinobi villages?
The spectators moved from shock to confusion, and finally to utter disbelief. This wasn't the battle they had come to see. No one had bought tickets to watch Kumogakure's supposed genius get thoroughly trounced.
What they wanted was a proper fight between two shinobi prodigies!
Though watching Kumogakure's genius get utterly humiliated was somewhat satisfying, this wasn't the narrative they'd been sold in yesterday's promotions.
How pitiful. He'd even lost a few teeth.
A lay battered on the ground, and the violent scene grew too brutal for some to keep watching. Takuya decisively turned his head away, opting to strike up a conversation with Hatake Sakumo instead.
Better to chat than watch this mess. The result was all that mattered; there was no need to linger on the process.
"Senior, is everything ready back in the village?"
"Huh?! Oh…"
Still staring blankly at the pitiful sight of A getting beaten, Hatake Sakumo instinctively turned his head, seemingly not registering Takuya's question.
In the stands, the Daimyō of the Land of Fire had been watching with growing disinterest. The one-sided beating had gone on for too long, and the excitement had faded.
After some thought, the Daimyō made a suggestion:
"Perhaps this battle should end here?"
The moment he spoke, all eyes turned to him. Feeling the stares from the five major shinobi villages, the Daimyō couldn't help but feel a bit guilty.
Especially under the fiery gaze of Kumogakure's Dodai.
"Ahem…"
Startled and uneasy, the Daimyō instinctively edged closer to Tsunade for support and offered an explanation:
"I just thought… Kumogakure's A seems so pitiful. It's too much. Shouldn't we end the fight?"
"Pfft~~~"
Kitsuchi, who had a straightforward personality and had clashed with A numerous times, couldn't hold back and burst into laughter.
Kumogakure often caused trouble for Iwagakure, and the two villages shared deep animosity. As Ōnoki's son and one of Iwagakure's strongest fighters, Kitsuchi had frequently crossed paths with A.
Seeing someone he disliked being humiliated was already satisfying, and with the Daimyō's candid explanation, Kitsuchi couldn't suppress his laughter any longer.
He laughed outright.
Inappropriate as it was during such a serious moment, the laughter quickly broke the tension, sparking a chain reaction.
The Iwagakure shinobi, who had been secretly enjoying the spectacle, couldn't hold back when their leader laughed.
Soon, the sound of schadenfreude-laced laughter erupted from Iwagakure's delegation.
This spread to the Kirigakure shinobi nearby, some of whom couldn't help but join in.
And then, Sunagakure shinobi followed suit.
This was bad.
Tsunade's facial muscles twitched as she turned slightly to shield the Daimyō from view.
She realized that the timid Daimyō was already intimidated by Dodai's glare.
As the Daimyō of her country, Tsunade couldn't let him lose face in front of outsiders.
"Bastard! Are you Iwagakure people provoking us?"
Watching A get beaten so thoroughly, Dodai was already fuming.
And now, with the Daimyō's ill-timed remark, Dodai's anger boiled over.
If they agreed to end the fight now, it would mean Kumogakure was admitting defeat.
They represented Kumogakure's honor. Even if they were being humiliated, they had to endure it, or the entire village's reputation would suffer.
Though A's humiliating defeat at Snowy's hands was embarrassing enough, personal disgrace was one thing; dragging the entire village's name through the mud was another.
The Daimyō's public suggestion had pushed Dodai to the brink.
To make matters worse, Kitsuchi had the audacity to laugh.
It wasn't just Kitsuchi—his laughter had encouraged the entire Iwagakure delegation, followed by Kirigakure, and then Sunagakure.
It felt as though Kumogakure had become the laughingstock of the shinobi world.
Trouble had erupted.
Why couldn't I hold back?
Kitsuchi cursed himself inwardly and quickly stifled his laughter, but he still turned to confront Dodai, his expression hard:
"When has Iwagakure ever provoked Kumogakure? Your A lacks strength and has a foul mouth. Can't we laugh at that?"
The situation had escalated to a full-blown conflict between two villages. Could they back down now?
Absolutely not.
Especially given the long-standing rivalry between Iwagakure and Kumogakure.
"How dare you!!!"
The Kumogakure shinobi, already enraged, couldn't hold back after Kitsuchi's provocation. Swords were drawn, and the atmosphere became electric with tension.
"What did you say?"
The Kumogakure shinobi cursed, and the Iwagakure shinobi retorted, escalating the confrontation further.
If not for the Kirigakure shinobi standing between them, they might have already clashed.
The shouting of dozens of shinobi from both villages drew everyone's attention.
Hatake Sakumo, sensing the situation spiraling out of control, left the field and approached Tsunade.
They're arguing?
What's going on?
Iwagakure and Kumogakure had always been at odds, locked in a tit-for-tat relationship for years. Kumogakure loved stirring up trouble, and Iwagakure was never one to back down.
The problem was, this was Konoha's territory. Letting two villages brawl here would be a massive embarrassment.
If a fight broke out, the first person to become a laughingstock would be Tsunade, the soon-to-be Fourth Hokage.
The celebrations were just a few hours away. If a brawl erupted now, it would be a disaster.
"Step in and stop them!"
Takuya gestured, and the surrounding Anbu immediately moved in. Kushina and Uchiha Mikoto also went to assist.
"Snowy!"
Takuya decided it was time to make a statement.
At Takuya's command, Snowy stopped beating A.
Her two-meter-tall form swelled instantly, growing to a massive, mountain-like size that loomed over the training ground.
The unfortunate A was pinned under one of her enormous paws, unable to move.
The terrifying chakra emanating from Snowy enveloped the entire training ground.
Takuya leaped onto Snowy's head, facing the now-silent delegations from Kumogakure and Iwagakure:
"Are you trying to cause trouble?"
