Cynthia smiled as she worked on the paperwork on her desk. Beside her, Roserade brings over a cup of coffee with a rose in her hand and gently places it on Cynthia's desk.
Cynthia looks back and smiles sweetly and says, "Thank you Roserade."
Roserade smiled and gave a gentleman's salute.
In the office, meanwhile, Lucario sits cross-legged in the corner, a blue aura glow swirling about him.
Garchomp, on the other hand, is sitting on the couch watching TV with Togekiss.
Looking out the window, Glaceon, Spiritomb, and Milotic were splashing around together in the pool.
"Dong, dong, dong..."
A knock came on the door and Cynthia said "Come in."
A young man wearing a yellow t-shirt on top and hip-hop style fat pants on the bottom staring at a red exploding head walked in. The visitor waved at Cynthia and said, "Yo Cynthia, you're in a good mood today. any good news from Professor Rope?"
The tone of his voice carried a good-natured flirtation.
Cynthia gave him a blank look and said, "Is there too little work for you, Flint."
"I'm sorry, I was wrong, forgive me!"
Flint apologized with a quick ninety degree bow.
The movements were extremely skillful...
Cynthia could only hold her forehead when she saw this, "Can't you guys do more work? Touching fish all day."
Big
Cynthia gave him a blank stare and said, "Lucian already has more work than I do." With that she picked out a few papers from the pile on her desk then handed them over.
Flint scratched his own head with a distressed look on his face before walking over and taking the papers.
Apparently, the daily groper had no right to refuse these jobs...
Should've just let that guy Aaron accompany me!
Flint thought with hatred. Then he secretly resolved that next time there was something like this, he would definitely call his good friend on board. Friends are for sharing, right?
After Flint collected the documents, Cynthia asked: "How is it? Has that egg been mailed out?"
Flint sniffed and put away the troubled look on his face, nodded and said, "En, a 'reliable' staff member has already set off to deliver it to Professor Rope."
Cynthia couldn't help but shake her head when she heard the word 'reliable', "Lucian has so much work already and you guys are actually squeezing him."
Flint shrugged and said, "I didn't arrange it, that Lucian guy arranged it himself, saying that he has some things to ask Professor Rope for advice, and by the way, he's taking this opportunity to take a look around Kanto, as if it's a vacation. He's already taken care of the urgent matters at hand, so it's not too late to wait until he gets back to take care of the rest."
Cynthia nodded, then picked up her coffee and took a sip, then said, "Lucian will leave the rest of the work to you and Aaron to divide. Don't let his workload increase again until he returns."
Flint scratched his head, "Okay."
Then he spoke with a complicated face, "Cynthia, can I ask you a question?"
Cynthia nodded.
Flint asked suspiciously, "You used this year's Champion privilege this time and chose such a Chimchar's egg for Professor Rope... won't you feel bad about it?"
To be honest not only Flint but almost everyone was confused about this.
Though Flint, being a Fire-type Elite Four could see that both the father and mother of that egg would have been extremely strong Pokémon, after all, only such a Pokémon could give birth to a child that could release so much energy while still an egg.
But Flint thought to himself that his Infernape's child would not be inferior to the Pokémon in this egg.
That, Flint was very confident of. And if Cynthia needed it, not to mention Rope's status as half of the Sinnoh League's own family, the two statuses of being Professor Oak's love interest and the youngest Pokémon Professor were enough for Flint to give away a Chimchar's egg.
For one thing, he believed that a student taught by Professor Oak couldn't possibly be bad for Pokémon, and for another, it was good karma.
But Cynthia didn't go to Flint, instead she traded the privilege of being this year's champion for such an egg.
You know, this privilege, not to mention an egg, even if it is a set of Mega Stone can even get the right to use legendary resources.
Trading such a privilege for a good-looking Chimchar's egg?
Flint's Elite Four perks have been exchanged for Mega Stones and other precious resources. Granted, Cynthia is the successor to an ancient family in the Sinnoh region. There was no shortage of resources, but this was still too wasteful.
That's why everyone thought through their heads but couldn't understand why the always sensible Cynthia would make such a choice.
Is it possible that it's because she fell in love and lowered her intelligence?
So while Cynthia asked Flint to check the condition of the egg and find someone to send it to Rope. They also asked Flint to inquire about the reason.
After all, gossip is in the air.
Cynthia smiled when she heard Flint's question and said, "I've met the parents of that egg."
Flint nodded, this everyone had inquired about, that egg was the one Cynthia had brought back to League after a mission.
"The parents of that egg were killed in battle against a powerful enemy."
Flint cocked her head in confusion, there were not a thousand Pokémon eggs like that.
"What killed those two Infernape was a pack of Rhyperior. Would you like to guess how many Rhyperior are in which pack?"
Cynthia posed the question rather playfully.
Flint pondered for a moment, based on his knowledge of Pokémon like Rhyperior, the largest packs were usually around 20, and a pack like that, let alone two Infernape. Even he, Flint, wouldn't be able to do much good.
"A dozen? It's fifteen at most."
Flint thought for a while and gave such an answer, this was actually his estimation of the maximum number that he could defeat, any more would not be something he could handle.
Instead, he saw Cynthia laugh and shake her head.
"How many is that?" He asked suspiciously.
"Thirty. There were only two left by the end."
How many?
Flint's eyes widened and he wanted to ask aloud but didn't.
But Cynthia apparently saw his point and smiled, "It was thirty all right, that's the largest Rhyperior colony on record."
"That's very strong indeed." Flint nodded. In that case, the Chimchar in that egg did have the potential to go against the grain. That still didn't quite match the value of the privilege, but it wasn't that amazing anymore.
"But that's not all." Cynthia spoke with a smile.
"They also fought a strong enemy before the battle with the Rhyperior Clan**. At the time of the battle with Clan Rhyperior**, they were in what can only be described as a strong state."
The corner of Flint's mouth twitched in disbelief.
"The one they fought before was the Antimatter Dragon - Giratina. Giratina didn't kill both of them, and as a result, a group of Rhyperior took advantage of the situation."
Flint felt bad about his entire being.
After a long time, he laughed bitterly, "I feel like I'm missing out on a billion right now..."
This was the truth. Cynthia would not fool him about such a thing. So it could be said that the father and mother of the egg were the strongest Infernape in the world, and even the word "two" could be removed. Anyway, his Infernape could not do it.
If he were to get this Infernape... he even thought he had a chance to challenge Cynthia.
Cynthia smiled, then turned her head to the clear blue sky and whispered, "What I give him, of course, has to be the best."
