Being Both an Inspector and a Contestant

Misty looks at Rope, I shouldn't say she gives Rope a death glare.

Rope is smiling on the side. Sue follows Rope with an embarrassed look on her face. Not knowing what to say.

Misty stared at Rope's handsome face for a long time and had the urge to tear it apart.

What a good looking guy, how come he's not a vegetable?

"Let me ask one more side question, Inspector Rope. Are you planning on doing a gym challenge as an inspector?"

Misty's tone was nasty. But but extenuating circumstances.

As an upstanding Gym Leader, Misty stated that she would never give any trainer a pass. You could be weak, and she wouldn't embarrass a new trainer with her ace team. You're strong enough and she won't go easy, it's about mutual respect between trainers.

But Rope is going too far... you top dog comes to challenge you, do you let him pass or not? Let him through, he'll say you're not strong enough. He'll say you're not strong enough. If you don't let him pass, he'll be unhappy and won't give you a good time.

When you don't know this boss well, you can only say that you are helpless, and then recognize your own bad luck.

But... when this top boss you not only know, but can even say is a friend...

That's when you only have the thought of wanting to beat him up and then cut ties with him.

"How come, Gym Leader Misty! Am I that kind of guy? I have to be challenging as a trainer! "

Rope is a little mean and wants someone to beat him up.

"Then why did you bring the inspector's assistant?"

Misty questioned angrily.

Sue on one side of the room immediately felt embarrassed at her words. Indeed, she couldn't quite figure out what Professor Rope was thinking. But an official is a big man, Rope asked her to come, so he could only follow.

Rope sniffed and frowned, then said, "Misty, you have to put on the attitude of a Gym Leader, I'm a trainer, and that has no relevance to who I bring along for the challenge."

Although she knew that with the status of a friend, it was basically impossible for Rope to make things difficult for herself, Misty was still very dissatisfied with the fact that it was obvious that things that would be fine if she operated normally, why did Rope have to provoke Misty?

Misty couldn't figure it out, but she had already decided to fulfill Rope's wish.

She knew that Rope was no longer a weakling now, but she definitely wanted to teach Rope a hard lesson!

"Let's get started then! I don't know that there's nothing you're trying to provoke me with, but I'm already pissed off!"

Misty threw down such a sentence in a huff, and then walked towards the venue of the battle without turning her head.

Rope looked at Misty's distant back and smiled without saying anything.

A moment later, he turned his head towards Sue's direction and bowed, "Sorry about that, Miss Sue, because of me, I got you involved."

Sue, who originally had a grudge, hastily waved her hand when Rope did this and said, "It's okay, it's okay."

But Rope shook her head and then said, "Although I'm sorry, I have reasons that I had to provoke Misty."

Sue sniffed and then asked in a tangled voice, "I'm actually quite curious, so could you tell me about it. Of course, if you don't want to talk about it, then just pretend I didn't ask."

Rope smiled slightly, "There's nothing I can't tell you, Red told me that Misty's strongest state is when she's angry. So I'm just going to try out what she's capable of after angering her."

"Just, that simple?" Sue asked cautiously.

Rope's face remained unchanged as he nodded, "It's that simple. I've never been one to think too much."

Sue instinctively felt something was wrong, but since this Rope guy was talking seriously, she had to believe it even if she didn't.

Is Rope's idea that simple?

Of course not...

Rope had always been bad at making plans though, and pursuing the strongest was indeed Rope's goal. But if he was pursuing the strongest, he could just challenge the strongest Red!

There was no need to get angry with Misty.

As for the reason...

He wanted to make sure that Misty was strong enough to be the main force against the Servants of God organization.

Although this organization is not well known, Rai, Denki and Kai are not weak. Ice, who has just been arrested, is even more powerful.

And according to Ice, there are at least two other levels in the organization above her.

So who could deal with them was the question.

Rope wasn't about to wait for the other side to strike and then play passive defense. That's just not his style.

He decided to investigate the nest of 'Servants of God' in the Kanto region and knock it down. And to do that, it was best to be prepared. And of course, personnel is the first priority.

But who to pick?

The Elite Four champions, Red, Blue, myself... and who else? Are these enough?

Maybe, but what if they're not?

I can't afford to gamble...

Plus it's bound to be impossible for all these people to act at the same time...a very real problem to leave Kanto with enough high end trainers to withstand a crisis.

As for inviting Cynthia and others to help in the battle again...it's dangerous, so what if we all have family and friends... if Cynthia can come, would Sinnoh League let their own champions get involved in such pointless risks? It's not like they're fighting a Sinnoh stronghold.

So Rope was going to pick help from the Gym Leaders, and after seeing what Ice could do in a fight, he figured that the average Gym Leader probably wouldn't be able to handle the guys in this organization...

He didn't know from which nook or cranny they had pulled such a large number of powerful people.

League had a craving for them, too!

Furthermore, the other side's technology that allowed Hoopa Unbound to be independently molded hadn't yet been investigated for any useful information. What if the other party had a certain Legendary Pokémon in their hands?

Don't dare to bet on it...

That's why he wanted to provoke Misty...

He wanted to know Misty's true strength. It had been too long since the woman had made an effort after her encounter with Red. In her rage, at her peak, Rope was going to defeat her against her attributes, and then use that to get Misty to come up for air!

Yes, Rope is that noble!

But really, essentially this look-at-me guy just wants Misty to go to Mount Silver for special training, and then special training with Red and Yellow.

That's right, Rope, the good (sneaky) old (old) man (cunt) just wants to send this Red guy to the ashram.

Say it and do it! That's what Rope believes in.

Mentally imagining the scene where Red was torn between Yellow and Misty not knowing which one to coax, Rope felt happy.

Sue looked at her own boss who went off for a while and then happily acted like a dilettante, scratching her head with a distressed expression.

"Big boss' mind is just hard to guess..."

On the other hand, Misty had already clasped her hands to her chest, then glared coldly at Rope.
