Fun Seeker

Rope walked slowly down the road, then dialed Blue's phone number on his Rotom.

Soon Blue's voice was on the other end of the line.

"What can I do for you?" Blue's voice was tinged with fatigue, so he thought he had stayed up late again to make training plans and cultivation programs.

Rope grinned and said, "Do me a favor."

Blue, who was slumped over his desk at the Pallet Town Oak Research Center writing plans all morning, pinched his cell phone with one hand, then stretched out a big sigh of relief.

A look of a little relief came over his face, and his whole body looked a little more refreshed.

He picked up the coffee Daisy had prepared for him in his hand and took a sip, then frowned at the sweetness.

Then he said into his cell phone, "What favor? I thought you didn't need my help with the cultivation program?"

As a good buddy, Blue had long mentioned helping Rope with the incubation program. And as a Trainer, Blue's breeding level this was definitely not a problem at all.

You know that Blue's Pokémon can even guard the gym by themselves.

But Rope refused, because he felt that he should breed his own Pokémon according to his own style. Furthermore, in terms of Pokéblock production and training methods alone, Rope was not much worse than Blue. The difference between him and Blue is mainly in the speed of cultivation, Blue can bring his second team to the same level as someone else's first team in a year. That kind of breeding speed is really just second to none in the world of Pokémon.

But as of right now, while Rope didn't know that there wasn't some kind of quantity cap or something like that for the Burning Fruit's Ability Plus, Rope knew that he was growing even a little bit faster now than Blue and the others did back then.

Cheater.

"Not this one, I got a whole job, heh heh."

Rope's playful voice came over the phone. Blue felt a headache as soon as he heard Rope's whole job. The term whole job was something he learned from Rope.

Throughout the years, every time Rope's whole job would cause a powerful mental shock to Red and Blue, and then cause great physical trauma to Rope himself.

Like setting up a chance encounter for Professor Oak and Granny Agatha.

Like switching the labels and locations of Daisy's white sugar and salt.

Like jumping out and scaring Nidoking and Nidoqueen on the patio while they're talking about love.

Red and Blue are shocked at Rope's audacity. And Rope tends to get punched hard...

Now that he's whole live again, Blue just feels like he's in over his head...

"What situation have you gotten yourself into that you want me to wipe your ass with?"

Blue's tone carried a deep sense of powerlessness.

Rope on the other side of the phone sniffed immediately.

"Blue! In your eyes, am I the type to cause trouble and then not care?"

Blue rolled his eyes, "Of course not."

Before Rope could be happy, he immediately added, "You're the type of person who remembers things and doesn't remember the beatings. Get in trouble, get beat up, get in trouble again, get beat up again..."

Rope was momentarily speechless, wanting to retort, but feeling as if he had no position...

"Alright what's up, come on, finish up and get it over with for you I've got to get back to my training program."

Blue rubbed his temples, listening to Pidgeys' chirping outside the window and the chirping of the other Pokémon that rose and fell, doing his best to stabilize himself a little.

A gentle smile spread across his face as he lifted his head to look out the window at the bright spring sunshine and the group of Tauros lounging on the ground, sunning themselves.

Right now, he felt like he could live with whatever Rope pulled out of her ass.

"I'm snubbing Misty for Mt. Silver. You remember to videotape me then!"

Tired, destroy, this world...

Blue felt his brain pop straight up.

He still underestimated Rope's ability to screw up...

"No, how did you do that?"

Blue was just... allowed to wonder. Misty had a thing for Red this they all knew in their hearts. And Yellow and Red were close that everyone knew. Even Green, the trouble maker, wouldn't go easy on Red over this.

Is Rope missing the thrill of getting his ass kicked by Red after so long?

Speaking of which it has to be said that Rope is a guy who doesn't usually use his powers to avoid getting himself beaten up when he's messing around with his friends.

In his own words, with an ability like that, it's disrespectful to the ability not to die. But taking responsibility for doing something wrong was a principle one should have.

This was also the reason why Rope had always been a deadbeat, but everyone didn't hate him. Except for a few insignificant little things Rope screwed up out of playfulness, most of Rope's death-defying was done with good intentions.

"You're not trying to force Red to make a choice."

Blue asked coldly.

"When... how could I? I just want to see Red's asura field."

Rope snorted without looking around.

[You just keep your mouth shut.]

Blue shook his head and didn't say anything.

A moment later, he spoke again and asked, "I'll help you with this, is there anything else? If there's nothing, I'll go and get busy. I still have a lot of things on my side."

"Something!"

Rope said immediately.

Blue instinctively sensed something was wrong when she heard his urgent tone. Then slowly asked, "Oh~ What else is it? Tell me?"

"Internally, I remember that all of us Pokédex holders have a title, I want to find Professor and ask what my title is."

Blue bristled, what a clumsy lack of words.

"What do you think of 'Fun Seeker'?"

Blue said with a light chuckle.

"Wow, Blue you're way out of line!"

Rope's tone was full of feigned aggression.

"Grandpa said that if you refuse the title of Researcher, then your other traits aren't really summarized well, anyway, don't be in a hurry, you'll be given the title after the Indigo Plateau Conference is done."

"Emm, that's fine too, let's not talk about it, I have something over here."

Then immediately hung up the phone.

Blue's relaxed tone immediately collapsed.

He frowned in confusion as he thought about Rope's words.

Red and Misty's side was for everyone's good, so that Red could make a choice and there was no need for Yellow and Misty to be the ones to break it off again. And what was the point of that deliberately prolonged conversation that followed?

Blue thought about it, got up, and approached the window. Watching the cozy routine on the patio.

He saw Professor Oak helping a Jenny Turtle keep track of its body data, and he saw Daisy surrounded by a circle of assorted Pokémon they were waiting for the cookie Daisy was holding.

He reminisced about the great things that had happened recently. He recalled a part of his journey when he was traveling back in the day.

Then shook his head bitterly.

"Rope, you... you're the real legend..."
