Lance stood at Indigo Plateau, the gateway to League headquarters.
He looked up at the distant sky. Following his line of sight, a black dot was rapidly approaching at a speed visible to the naked eye.
It was a rare good day, the sun was shining brightly, and there was a lazy feeling in the air. Lance squinted his eyes, enjoying the rare leisure time. The black dot in the sky was Lucian, the Sinnoh Elite Four who came from afar. Originally, Lorelei was supposed to be in charge of receiving the foreign guests, but when Lance heard that Lucian came for Rope, he took the initiative to take over the task. First, this task was indeed easier, just like a vacation. Second, this was not his fault, was it?
Lance's mind was also jittery, he guessed Cynthia would come out and testify on Rope's behalf when he arched the fire in the group, though he didn't anticipate Diantha to come out as well, but things turned out well.
He vented his desire to victimize Rope and didn't really put anyone on the spot.
But here comes Lucian...
This guy couldn't really be here to challenge Rope. Then one has to be careful and say something ahead of time so that Lucian doesn't sell himself short, or else that Rope guy will definitely find a chance to screw himself over.
[But that's not necessarily true], Lance rubbed his chin, [Maybe Elite Lucian came to weigh Rope's weight for the sake of Sinnoh's Flower being picked by Rope].
It does make sense when you think about it...
Lance's face spreads a rather lewd smile, as if he has already foreseen the scene where Rope has summoned Entei to prove himself worthy of Cynthia, and then fights Lucian in a no-rules battle.
Tsk, tsk, tsk, it's so bloody. I hope Rope goes easy on him.
Even as Lance was rambling on, Lucian had flown closer and closer.
He was sitting in a rented Staraptor with a rather image-destroying battering ram on his back.
His whole body looked a bit tired, which was in line with the image of a person who had traveled a long distance.
He looked at the gradually approaching Kanto League headquarters and also let out a sigh of relief before a smile appeared on his face.
[Thank goodness we've finally arrived, if we had delayed for two more days, I guess this egg would have hatched. Then Cynthia mustn't tear me apart...]
Although he didn't know what attracted Cynthia to Professor Rope, Lucian was happy that his best friend had found a boyfriend.
And this boyfriend seems to be a great man of letters and arms.
It would be good for their Sinnoh League as well! Hopefully, it would be this big brother who would serve in their Sinnoh League in the future, so that they would have one more person to share their workload.
I'm sure with Cynthia's character, she won't be able to step down from her position as champion until someone comes along in the Sinnoh League who can beat her.
For Cynthia, or for most champions, the title of champion is not just an honor, it's a responsibility.
Everyone who sits in that position has the conviction to die in it.
When you think about it like that, Professor Rope would have to at least put Cynthia over head-on if he wanted Cynthia to go home and bring up the kids. OMG! Is that even a possible task?
Might as well expect Professor Rope to take Arceus in, then!
Lucian laughed at his own thoughts. Then collected his thoughts and looked at the approaching Kanto League HQ with a look of majesty that a Sinnoh Elite, should have.
A few moments later, Lucian landed and gently stroked the neck of Staraptor, who had been running hard all the way around, before putting it away. Although it was a rented Pokémon, it was really thanks to this little guy along the way.
After collecting it, Lucian turned around, smiled at Lance who was looking at him with the same polite smile, and extended his hand, "Hello, Champion Lance, I'm Lucian, the Super Elite of the Sinnoh region, first time I've met you, please take care of me.
Actually, people are kinda having a hard time with Lance's title. Lance is Kanto's Dragon Elite, but he's also Johto's Champion, so people generally treat Lance as if he's the champion of both regions. But Lance has been grilled to death by Lorelei...
For how many years now, he's beaten Bruno and pinned Agatha, but every time he runs into Lorelei he has to be put over.
Lorelei, on the other hand, can only beat him, and Agatha's experience and fighting style is really hard for Lorelei to deal with. Bruno, not to mention, Fighting vs Ice, is helpless.
But Bruno can't really beat Lance, the Dragon Elite, after all, Flying...
Agatha, on the other hand, doesn't have the heart for it, so she doesn't win every time, and always loses to Lance, or Lorelei, or Bruno.
Losing by turns.
Anyway, to the extent that Kanto Elite Four is an in-roll, as long as it's not Agatha's old hair talking, then there's not going to be a real champion out there.
And as we all know, it's better to have something like a champion than a champion.
All champions are fought one step at a time.
The champion of the League Tournament can challenge the champion of the Elite Four and then become the champion or the Elite Four. Those who can go up, those who are mediocre go down, and those who are inferior are eliminated.
In essence, it's still a world of strength.
Lance is really optimistic about Rope, and he's waiting for Rope to come in and fuck them all up, then become the Kanto Champion and do the heavy lifting!
Of course, that's because Lance doesn't know what Lucian is thinking right now, or else these two "laborers" would be fighting.
This shows the scarcity of high-level labor.
Thinking about it, if Rope really becomes the champion, he will really have to do a lot of work. Right now Lance and Lucian and the guys are still doing all the man stuff.
Rope will still have to do no human work when the time comes.
After all, he's still an employee of Boss Arceus!
Lance was never too concerned about the title. He'd rather not be the champion...
The good thing was that the Elite Four in Johto were really working a lot, so he could save a lot of energy.
Of course, apart from the responsibility of each person, the more important thing that determines how much work is done is strength.
If you can beat them, you will have less work.
If you can't beat them, you work more. When you think about it, Cynthia is also a model of labor. According to Cynthia's strength, she can let Elite Four work, and then go around fishing herself.
Diantha and Alder did just that!
Cadre of Corruption.
"You're welcome, just call me Lance." Lance said with a smile as he shook Lucian's hand. Then he withdrew his hand and looked at the large backpack behind Lucian's back and asked, "It's been a long journey, do you want me to carry this bag for you? It doesn't look light."
Lucian shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "No need, thanks for your kindness. I've already carried it all the way, so why don't I just carry it to the end? This is the Pokémon egg that Cynthia traded her champion privileges to Professor Rope for. That's the main reason I'm here."
Lance felt an unspeakably sour taste...
"What was that primary purpose, huh?"
Lance changed the subject.
"I intend to communicate with Professor Rope."
Lucian said seriously.
Lance's eyes snapped open!
