"Rope... just leave like this?"
Whitley asked with a rather puzzled look behind her and then at Rope.
"Well, what else?"
Rope splayed his hands, "Can you stay in the forest if you don't leave?"
Whitley was still puzzled... after all, although Rope's thought process was not very clear to himself, this guy always thought of getting himself more or less favors no matter what he did which Whitley was still very clear about. But now Rope had gone through so much effort and left so much food for that tailor. But now he just left like that?
Whitley looked at Rope with a skeptical look.
"Don't look at me like that... "Rope helplessly spread his hands, "It's not like I'm some kind of devil..." "But you don't want to be a good person either." Whitley immediately chimed in.
Rope let out a 'tsk', though it was tempting to retort to Whitley. but on second thought it seemed like Whitley had a point.
"I can't force him to do anything...just come along if you want."
Rope said with a curl of his mouth after a moment of silence.
"Not afraid you'll do it for nothing?"
"I'm lucky if I get it, but not if I lose it. It's just the word destiny."
Rope said bashfully.
He had a sprinkled attitude except for what he had to do for himself.
When he first subjugated Charmander that was indeed when he was tired of staying in the forest, then he came across a guy who was agreeable to him naturally he intended to subjugate him and then hurry to get out of the forest.
After that, things are not impatient, Rope will naturally be much more open-minded.
And in the end the sunk cost Rope paid wasn't that high, it was just a meal. Being able to lure that guy onto the bait was naturally earning, even if it didn't work out it wasn't a great loss.
It's just a shot in the dark with dates or without dates, and it's just something you do as you go along.
Whitley looked at Rope's look that does not seem to be fake, can also be nodded, and then no longer speak, just silently follow Rope.
The sun is still good, sprinkled in the forest, a column of light illuminates the corners of the forest.
Rope and Whitley were almost out of the woods.
The trees were getting fewer and fewer, the sun was getting more and more prevalent, and the shadows were getting fewer and fewer.
Gastly lingered in the shadows of the trees, looking at Rope's back not far away, a look of confusion and doubt in her eyes.
Cook...
Passerby...
Remembering last night's delicious curry, Gastly tried to move forward to keep up, but looked at the glaring sunlight, and this familiar forest behind him.
"Gas..."
Where to go from here...
"Gas..."
The choice...
"Gas..."
What should I do...
"Rope... out of the forest."
Whitley looked at Rope, whose face was bland but more or less still had some disappointment showing through, and said with a slight worry.
"I know." Rope said with a smile before looking at the road ahead and the village that could be seen in the distance.
Ahead was a new journey, and a new journey meant leaving behind the comfort and stability of the known and the already gained to gamble on an unknown future.
Rope would never have made that choice. If the button to choose to cross over had been in her hand then the odds were that she wouldn't have chosen to cross over.
But fortunately, the current one wasn't too bad. Speaking of which it should be almost time for the company to hold an event. Remember that family leave is taken after the event...
By then, I'll be able to go home for a visit...
"It's so nice!"
Rope had trouble containing herself from laughing out loud after all.
Whitley didn't know what Rope was laughing at, but since Rope was happy, she felt a little better. After all, it would seem that Rope should indeed not have suffered too much from not taking in that Pokémon.
"Gas~"
A low but slightly excited shout suddenly came from her ear.
Whitley jerked back only to see nothing.
"Gas~"
Rope turned back, following the sound and lowered his head, smiling, "Are you going to come with me?"
Gastly looked at Rope's smiling face as he stared fixedly, not making a sound for a long time.
Rope didn't rush, just smiled and said, "The meal is manageable."
"Gas~ (Deal!)"
Gastly jerked out of Rope's shadow then loaded his head onto the Pokéball at Rope's waist.
Rope stops him, then without turning around reaches for the Luxury Ball Whitley hands him.
"Come on this one, that was a forced break-in you just had..."
Rope smiles as he holds up the Pokéball, then touches it to Gastly's body .
Gastly turned into a ball of red light, then was collected into the Luxury Ball.
The ball twitched for just a moment, then stopped moving.
"More to come, Gastly."
Rope looked at the Pokéball, smiled, and put his fifth Pokémon on his belt.
Whitley looked at the heartfelt smile on Rope's face and said, "Congrats, fifth one, one more to go before the team takes shape."
Rope shook his head and said, "It's still early to be molded, it's not like you don't know, these guys really can't become any tactical system, all of them basically just rely on their combat power to run over them as well."
Whitley thought for a moment, then nodded silently.
Rope was right, the requirements for a truly systematic team could be strict. Basically, the strict requirements were used for every Pokémon species, and there were even regulations on how strong or weak each Pokémon was. There can be up and down fluctuations, but definitely not too much.
Without mentioning anything else, this pattern of Entei being able to beat other Pokémon tied together in Rope's team now was absolutely not allowed in the tactical system.
One band with many means that each one can't fulfill their potential.
The strong are held back by the weak, and the weak are held hostage by the strong as they rush towards the stronger.
One is powerless, the other is cowed.
That's why Rope's tactical system couldn't even be described as immature, it could only be described as fragmented...
"How do you plan to use your powers to strengthen a Gastly?"
Whitley asked suspiciously as he glanced at Gastly's Pokéball that was pinned to Rope's waist.
"I never said my powers could only be used on fire Pokémon, did I..." said Rope, looking at the backpack on Whitley's back, he could feel that the egg there was absorbing his power.
It was growing, it was changing.
Rope could already hear its heartbeat.
"The little one behind you should be born soon."
Rope said.
Whitley wasn't expecting such a sudden change in Rope's topic, but in reaction to what Rope was saying again, Whitley excitedly shouted, "Really! Really!!!"
She shook Rope's shoulder, her eyes filling with anticipation.
"I can feel that its absorption of my energy has stopped, and it will be able to hatch in a couple days after it has absorbed the energy completely."
Rope was shaken by Whitley's arm, her other hand was placed on her head and rubbed, smiling, "Definitely."
"(^-^)V great!!!"
Whitley jumped up and gave a scissor hand, then suddenly thought that she still had to be careful with the egg on her back. So he stopped hurriedly, then carefully inclined his head to look at his backpack, like he was afraid of disturbing the little one in the egg.
Rope shook his head, as if laughing at Whitley's childishness, but on second thought, he was just a teenager. Put in the original world it was also a middle school kid, so all that hint of childishness turned into cuteness.
——————————————
In the middle of the afternoon, Gastly and the little ones met.
Gastly first looked at Entei then at the other three Pokémon, then timidly called out, "Gas~ (Hello guys.)"
Entei looked at Gastly and gave a smile, "Roar! (I didn't see you being so shy when you were stealing food.)"
As soon as Gastly heard food, he immediately straightened up, "GasGas! (What's a foodie, can you call it stealing food!)"
Entei laughed and shook his head, and Chimchar on one side stretched out his hand, looked at the large purple-black ball, and said, "Howlcha! (I'm Chimchar, half a month old!)"
The smile on Gastly's face froze...half a month old? Why do I feel like I can't hit you? Although you can't hit me either...
Meanwhile, Gastly looked at Chimchar's outstretched hand and for a moment didn't know how to react...
How do you grow claws? Waiting online is quite urgent.
Chimchar seemed to see Gastly's dilemma, so he stepped forward, shoved his hand into Gastly's body, and then bobbed it up and down a bit. Then he turned and looked at Gastly with a bit of a nervous smile.
The corners of both Gastly's and Entei's mouths twitched, as if... there was some truth to that approach.
And next, Growlithe stepped forward with a straight face, "Ow~~ woof! (I'm Growlithe! Nice to meet you!)"
"Gas~ (I'm also very...)"
Before Gastly could finish his words, he was interrupted by Growlithe's behavior.
Gastly lowered his eyes to see that Growlithe's claws were being placed into his body, and then digging and digging, as if he was planning to pull out something fun.
Who the hell is a ghost anyway hey! You bunch of demons.
Just as Growlithe was about to stick his head in as well, Charmeleon pinched the back of Growlithe's neck and yanked him away.
"Roar... (Can you not do something like a stupid dog!)"
"Woof! (I am a dog!)"
Growlithe retorted with an indignant look on his face.
Charmeleon: ...
Entei: ...
Chimchar: ...
Gastly: ...
Foongy, who was watching the show: ...
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it haha! ...
On the other side, Whitley, who was helping Rope prepare lunch, looked at the Pokémon that were still active over there, smiled, and then asked Rope in a low voice, "Rope, don't you think that you were a bit hasty in taking in Gastly? Even if your ability can be enchanted to Pokémon with different attributes, what about the effect?"
Rope shook his head and said, "What else can I do, Gastly is a guy who's struggling to find the courage to embrace a new future, and I'm kicking him back in the face?"
Rope squared his shoulders and said, "Of course you can't, it's a choice Gastly made himself. My acceptance of him is a choice I've made as well. I won't be chagrined or anything. If you choose it yourself, you have to finish screwing it up."
Whitley looked at Rope, who was rarely serious, and nodded. She knew these truths too, she was just feeling worried for Rope. After all, it had always been fire-type Pokémon that Rope had taken in, and it could be said that she was an expert in fire-types.
If a Ghost-type Pokémon suddenly comes, there will definitely be a blind spot in terms of cultivation...
Rope seemed to be able to see Whitley's thoughts and said, "I know your concern, the cultivation of Ghost-type Pokémon, especially the cultivation of Gastly-type Pokémon... I am simply too good at it, okay? I'm really good at it, okay?"
This is the truth, after Rope crossed over, he has been most familiar with two old men, one is Professor Oak, the other is Granny Agatha.
Professor Oak treats Rope as his own grandson, and Granny Agatha is not the same.
Whenever Rope is at Granny Agatha's place, he is forced to learn some Ghost-type Pokémon nurturing knowledge. And Granny's breeding notes are sitting on the bedside table of the guest room Granny has dedicated to Rope.
But whenever Rope spent the night there he had to memorize two pages.
The next day Granny would ask questions over breakfast...
So Rope knew the breeding methods of Ghost-type Pokémon by heart. Not to mention the breeding method of Granny's ace Pokémon Gengar.
So it's fair to say that Rope already has a preliminary idea about Gastly's breeding. But the next step was definitely to see which aspect Gastly was better at, and then build on her strengths and avoid her weaknesses.
"It's good that you have it in mind." Whitley nodded, then put the cut tree fruits in front of him onto a plate, then handed it to Rope along with the plate.
Rope took the plate, then smiled and said, "I'll do the work, you... try to rest assured..."
Words can't be too full. After all, Rope was also subject to intermittent unreliability.
Whitley looked at Rope, who was cooking, and then looked at Gastly, who had already gotten acquainted with all the Pokémon, and started to play jokes, and for the first time, he felt that subduing a Pokémon was such a simple thing...
One must know that Whitley and Foongy had grown up together. Whitley and Foongy grew up together, and it was only after Whitley grew up that Foongy was officially adopted into Pokéball.
But Rope took in an equally talented Gastly with just one meal.
No one can know about this, or else the hard-working Pokémon guys' minds will explode...
But that's just because Whitley has seen fewer trainers. Trainers didn't always use battles to subdue Pokémon. Whether it's bonding, food luring, or mechanical capture, it all exists.
Still, the wilderness can't be considered completely outside the law, it can only be said to be about the same...
After all, the law is the most basic bottom line.
Of course, poaching and selling is definitely illegal... for no other reason than to steal business from the Alliance...
Don't think that the Alliance is some kind of clean ship... there's blood behind every bit of power.
Rope shook his head, not about to tell Whitley any of this.
Kids still have to have their fun as kids.
As for Rope... adults, giant cry babies can't be babies.
In the midst of having a chat, the meal was ready.
"Dinner's ready!"
Rope by a big tree shouted towards the little ones not far away.
Before Rope's words fell, Growlithe had just lifted his foot when Gastly, who had been playing around with Growlithe just a moment ago, had scratched through the shadows of the diving tree, quickly paddled through, and then appeared in front of Rope.
"Gas!!!!(Time to eat!!!)"
