Negotiations Are Imminent

Lance has been busy as hell lately.

Last night's New Year's Eve was a rare break for him. The rest of the time, he had been preparing for the negotiations with the Pokémon. It was supposed to be a simple matter, and there shouldn't be too many twists and turns.

In fact, it wasn't. But there were too many things and forces involved.

He'd gotten so many inquiries these days, he'd gone sky-high.

Lance looked at the so-called 'People's Petition' in front of him. On it, besides the 10,000 words stating the 'disadvantages' of renewing the contract with the Pokémon, there were also close to 10,000 signatures from the people.

Lance was furious when he saw this 'petition'.

He threw the petition to the ground. He even had the urge to step on it. But in the end, there was still reason. So he didn't really step on it.

The secretary was startled by his action. She also saw the petition.

He was a bit speechless and at the same time a bit emotional.

These companies and corporations are really too capable of making things happen. Although it was clear that the signing of this alliance would jeopardize their interests. But to push people to this point, it's too much.

The secretary stepped forward and placed the petition on Lance's desk. Lance's heart was still burning, but he had regained his senses. He didn't throw the petition out again.

Instead, he picked it up and took a good look at where the residents were located.

And then he made a note of the biggest business in the area.

Is it the biggest corporation in the area that's behind this?

It doesn't matter. Even if it wasn't, you'd still be sitting on the sidelines. If you can't even detect such a big disturbance. You can't even call yourself a big business.

"Champion Lance," The secretary said with some trepidation after a moment's agonizing in his heart, "if so many people are against it, shouldn't we put things on hold, wait for things to be discussed, harmonize the interests of all parties on our side, and then proceed to negotiations?"

Lance looked at his secretary, who had been with him for a long time.

Then he picked up another document to read.

While reading it, he asked, "Who gave you how much money this time?"

The secretary was first shocked, and then said helplessly: "Don't make fun of me. You know, I won't trouble you by charging money for this kind of thing."

Lance laughed mercilessly, "It seems to be a lot of money."

Seeing Lance's certainty, the secretary's heart felt as if someone was beating a drum, anxious.

However, Lance quickly spoke again: "I don't care who's favor you've received. But tell them I'm just a laborer. The real decision on this is Rope's. If you want to postpone, or organize this thing, go to Rope."

Lance's words were unrelenting. Because these guys might be a little tricky for him. But none of them would dare to blow up in front of you. After all, if you really piss Rope off. If Rope was really pissed off and Daisy went over there with a bunch of people to talk to him...that would be a big problem.

As for Rope's ability to do such a thing... well, please don't overestimate Rope's boundaries.

The secretary was dumbfounded by Lance's dislike. But his task of collecting money is just to say a few words. He didn't need to worry about anything else. So he happily agreed. Then continue to see Lance how to deal with these headaches of the documents.

Lance was helpless, he didn't know how to deal with these stubborn diehards.

These people have money and status. It's not impossible to make things difficult for the League.

The point is that this is just Kanto. Johto is no less lively than Kanto. The Johto area is no less hectic than the Kanto area, and it's even more hectic because it hasn't been through a big purge like the Kanto League. So it's a little bit more intense.

Karen and Will are only going to be busier than they are.

The biggest obstacle in Hoenn is the Devon Corporation, even if the Devon Corporation is cooperative. Even if Devon Corporation is cooperative, it's the cooperation that makes it more of a headache.

League isn't like bandits who rob and kill and don't even bother to bury them. So if Devon Corporation is so cooperative, they must give enough compensation. But what kind of compensation?

The situation is no different elsewhere. Galar and Kalos are even worse. Kalos is because the League has always been in a state of low esteem. After all, all of the Elite Four champions are busy with side projects. Even some of the trainers who are supported by the big corporations feel that they are not inferior to them.

The Galar region is even scarier... their entire regional league is sponsored by Macro Cosmos, and the president of the league is the chairman of Macro Cosmos. Even the last champion was the brother of President Rose...

In such a region, it's impossible to accomplish a program that would jeopardize the survival of a company. It just doesn't make sense. And Leon doesn't even have the Elite Four under his command... the eight dojinkan masters have various connections to Macro Cosmos...

Who Leon could trust...Lance didn't know.

He sighed helplessly.

"Born to be a laborer..."

Lance was not to be blamed for being pessimistic. Lance didn't even know what Rope was thinking. Lance didn't even know what Rope was thinking. After all, the relationship between these Pokémon and humans had reached such a state.

Lance couldn't deny that. The relationship between Pokémon and humans had become highly strained. But there was no intention of fighting right away.

And even if they did fight, they wouldn't necessarily lose!

In the worst case scenario, it's just that they lose...and the humans are captured by the Pokémon? There are some Pokémon that are far more intelligent than ordinary humans. However, they are far inferior to humans when it comes to scheming and plotting.

So even if humans are at a temporary disadvantage, they will always return to a state of superiority. Lance doesn't doubt this at all. Lance didn't doubt that at all. Because that was the nature of humans.

It was also the fundamental reason for the victory in the first War of the Beasts.

"Because this time the Pokémon were led by Legendary Pokémon."

The door was pushed open and Rope walked right in. Nodding to the secretary who bowed to him in greeting, he sat down on the sofa and picked up the snacks on the table without a care in the world and ate them.

Lance shook his head, knowing that this guy must have read his mind. But this thing he still not spit out quickly said: "But there you are ah! Can't you beat the gods now?"

Rope didn't bring Hoopa or even any of the Pokémon.

He left them outside to train with Lance's Pokémon.

Entei of course guessed Rope's idea, so simply did not say anything more, is also the same old in the following lying down. Since with Rope, his strength has been slowly rising, now he is in the end what strength, he himself can not say, can only look at the little guys in front of the chicken pecking each other, feel very boring.

Although Rope cut them off from the internal conversation between humans and humans, but Entei believes. But Entei believed that Rope would never do something that would jeopardize the interests of Pokémon to protect the interests of humans.

"I couldn't possibly use the power that Pokémon brought me to oppress Pokémon. Seriously, Lance, can you do that?"

Rope shook his head and said flatly.

There was no need to make a big deal out of it, since what she said was the truth.

Lance also fell silent, and after a moment shook his head silently.

"That's right, we're no longer in the era of the Monster Messenger. This is the era of the trainer. In the past, Wraith Messengers and Wraiths were interdependent, but they were also wary of each other and threatened each other. The time when humans threatened magical beasts to survive is over."

"Now that we have such a close relationship with Pokémon trainers have no psychological pressure to fight against wild Pokémon. But things like massacres..."

"And because the relationship between humans and Pokémon is getting closer and more equal. There's basically no way you can force Pokémon to participate in a war with their own kind."

Rope said and rubbed his temples.

"My lord, times have changed..."

Rope's words struck a chord with Lance. There was a lot of helplessness.

Even after saying this, there was still no change in the situation.

After all, Rope has never been a person who cares that much. But now that he's told you so much. That means he knows how hard it is.

But he still has to do it.

But even if you tell those companies this, it won't do any good...you're just holding a knife in your hand, trying to cut the flesh off of them.

Even if you tell them that it's for the good of the world to cut off their flesh, what's the point? You're not the one who's hurting, so of course you can cut. It's him who's hurting, so he's just as justified in resisting.

Now they're in such a state, there's no room for maneuver.

All the conflicts are out in the open, just waiting for you to intensify them or reconcile them.

"What should we do now. You know very well that this isn't about Kanto, it's about the whole League, the whole world."

Lance was just as desperate now... It wasn't impossible for Kanto to force their way through. But there are other areas that are even more difficult to deal with...

Forget the others. Galar is a region! What are you going to do if the region doesn't cooperate?

Alola is calm. There's a big conglomerate there, too. But there's a big difference between the syndicates and the people. Thanks to the Kapu family's presence. So it's just a matter of getting the Kapu family to come out and talk to the people.

The Aether Foundation, of course, has nothing to worry about. You know, the four Legendary Pokémon of the Kapu Clan chose the Island Guardian of Alola themselves...

Rope listened to Lance's words, and without thinking too much, he spoke, "I've thought about what you said before."

With that, he got up, walked over to Lance's side, and whispered something in Lance's ear.

The corner of Lance's mouth twitched, and he looked at Rope with an odd expression on his face...

"You can do it, you're tough."

Lance looked at the smiling Rope in front of him, not knowing how to comment for a moment.

Rope, on the other hand, put away the smile on his face, and said with a compassionate expression: "I can't help it, I'm doing this for the sake of the world's overall situation. In the end, the conflict was caused by them. Now you want to start a war directly because of them."

"Then go to hell."

————————————

"Guys! Everyone! Quiet for a moment!"

An old man with a white beard, a kind face and a smile on his face shouted in a loud voice.

And after he shouted, the chaotic venue quieted down.

About 80% of the big businessmen in the whole Kanto region looked at the old man at the top. It was a legend they had heard of before. A legend in the business world. From a wholesaler of Pokémon training equipment, he had transformed into one of the largest merchants in the Kanto region through a single opportunity.

It could be said that a large portion of the young businessmen nowadays had grown up listening to the legend of this old man.

Seeing the scene finally quieted down, the old man at the top nodded his head and said, "We are gathered here today to fight for our own interests in the League!"

He looked at the merchants below and said emotionally: "As you all know, these merchants have always been oppressed by various forces. Powerful trainers would bully us, big families would bully us, and even some people would bully us poor merchants."

"When we were in constant conflict with the various parties, League helped us a bit. It got us out of our predicament. Then we managed to soar through the ranks with our own efforts. And now we're where we are now."

Hearing these words, all the businessmen in the room had a feeling of honor and glory.

It was as if what was said was true.

The old man looked at the reaction of the people below, and was naturally quite satisfied.

"But now!"

The old man's words took a sudden turn. The faces of the merchants below changed. Everyone knew that now, everyone was going to say the right thing.

"In order to curry favor with those awakened Legendary Pokémon, League has decided to take us people, and use us people's industries as sacrifices, and give them to those Legendary Pokémon, so that they can vent their anger, so that they can destroy them!"

"Have we not helped League? Aren't we the people that League is trying to protect? Why do we have to sacrifice our interests to help League now?!"

"Just because League helped us then?!"

"Can we agree!"

There was a moment of silence, and then, under the leadership of whoever it was, a chorus of 'no' voices came out.

Then, a smile appeared on the old man's face.
