This Chapter Number is Really Good

Rope looked at the large lake not far away with a slightly mesmerized look in his eyes.

This lake was really too big. It was hard to imagine that this originally not so big place could actually have such a big lake. Although Rope was the one who almost fell into this lake when he crossed over at that time. But in the end, he hadn't carefully observed the appearance of this lake.

Now it seems that this lake is no different from the world-famous lakes that Rope had seen in his previous life. It was even more magical. After all, most of the Pokémon in this lake could have created a copy of the Water Monster Legend if they were placed in the lake in the original world.

"Why do you suddenly want to come to this lake today?"

Sennogi looked at Rope with some confusion.Yesterday Rope was dragged away by Takeshi and then locked herself in her room for the day.

Then Rope dragged Sennogi out early this morning and made himself lead him to this lake.

But Sennogi had no idea what Rope was trying to do by coming to this lake. After all, nothing looked out of place here for the moment. Accordingly... there was even less to see.

The fact that Rope had come to the water's edge was in itself quite unexpected for Sennogi. After all, Rope's flames and all the other signs indicated that although Rope didn't hate water, he definitely didn't like it either.

So Sennogi had never taken the initiative to bring Rope to meet her old partner either.

"Something came up, discussed it with your brother, so I'm going to come over here and take a look."

Rope didn't hold back and told Sennogi about talking to Takeshi about taking in this Wailord here. omitting, of course, the stuff about having to run away with everyone.

After all, after his last fight with Katsuhisa, Rope realized that he still seemed to have some difficulty with things like changing history.

He knew very well that at that time, his thoughts were definitely to kill Katsuhisa and get it over with. But the thought that popped up in his own mind was also his own. He wanted to make Katsuhisa lose and collapse completely.

But two such thoughts fought in his own mind, that's why he was so hesitant at the time. And the second thought that popped up... wasn't supposed to be his main thought.

And afterward Rope probed the feeling in his hand through the company's channels.

The company's information said it was a time stamp. Which meant he was being targeted by the timeline. Regardless of appearing in that world, he would be seen as a threat to the timeline. It could be targeted by time.

But that was a good thing...not everyone had themselves marked by time. Being marked by time also means that you are able to pose some threat to time. That's a huge compliment.

Except that this invisible mark on Rope's hand right now was only elementary. If he did break the boundaries of the timeline and change the past, then this mark would be visible.

Most of the greats had this mark, it wasn't a humiliation, on the contrary, it was one of the proofs of honor in the Void.

Rope wasn't too happy... because he hadn't really changed history.

Before, it looked like he had just missed killing Katsuhisa by a hair's length, but Rope himself realized that a hair's breadth was a lot of breadth.

That distance that seemed like a hair's breadth could actually be a gulf of 10,000 miles.

Rope, right now, did not have the ability to change history. If he really took in Wailord...he might be able to try.

But in that case, Rope also verified another of his own suspicions.

His past self had done the same thing as himself when he came to this time and space...except that like himself, he had been stopped by the timeline.

Rope's brain buzzed at the thought.

Things like time were just too complicated. So complicated that Rope was having a hard time rationalizing it. Especially since there were some cases where the timeline could be modified, and some cases where it couldn't. So what was the timeline's most original plot?

Rope's whole thing is a mess. This kind of thing wasn't something Rope could understand by going deeper into it. The company's professional advice was that there was no need to consider issues related to time and high level space before leaving the secondary world and entering the void...

Because there was no point for the weak to consider these things at all.

Time and space would always be a prison for the weak and a plaything for the strong.

So Rope didn't even bother thinking about it now.

Sennogi was silent for a moment after listening to Rope's words, then raised his head, stared into Rope's eyes, and earnestly opened his mouth to ask, ''Is something going to happen? What are you guys hiding from me?"

Rope lamented Sennogi's perceptiveness. But it was something he had known for a long time, and there was something really wrong if Sennogi couldn't see the situation. But what needed to be hidden still needed to be hidden.

Or rather, according to the theory Rope had found out. Even if he made peace with it now, either something had suddenly happened to him causing him to be unable to speak, or something had happened to Sennogi causing him to be unable to hear.

Either way, it wasn't what Rope wanted. So much for hurting herself. But to let Sennogi get hurt because of his own carelessness is really going beyond his original intention.

Rope had originally thought of just saying something to get over it. After all, that's what they've been doing for the past few days.

But now it was different.

Rope looked into Sennogi's eyes and suddenly it felt like he had really done wrong.

It wasn't anger or aggression in Sennogi's eyes, it was a kind of distrust.

How can you give your trust to someone who doesn't trust you?

This behavior of Rope and Takeshi to hide their actions from Sennogi is what Sennogi sees as a distrust of herself...

Not that Sennogi is being pretentious. It's like working in a group where the leader presses lots and lots of work on himself, or the rest of the group. But you're not doing a lot of work.

That's not necessarily, or certainly not, favoritism.

Rather, it's a kind of distrust of you. He doesn't think you can do these things well. But these things have to be done, so they'd rather work overtime themselves than have you step in and help out.

Some might say that's a good thing! Give me less work and I get a paycheck, or that grade and credit, why not?

Doing a lot of work doesn't necessarily exercise people. But not going to work people probability is not going to progress.

Not progressing means elimination.

Unless you don't need to work at all, your family has already prepared for you a rich, enough to spend a lifetime of family money.

But the vast majority of this group of people will just work harder.

Sennogi now thinks...Rope and Takeshi, don't trust her.

It's certainly not what Rope and Takeshi think. But it's also undeniable that they didn't see Sennogi's thoughts before. One could even say that the two of them completely ignored any thoughts Sennogi had.

They didn't ask, and they didn't care.

So Rope was silent.

After a long time, Rope touched Sennogi's head and said, "It's okay, it's not that we don't trust you, it's just that these things that you don't know are the greatest protection for you."

Whether it was the evacuation plan, or the future that Rope was talking about. It's all a disservice to Sennogi.

In a sense, the relocation, is to protect Sennogi. this stage of Sennogi is just too kind.

She is not uneducated in all sorts of not-so-kind-to-everyone-else-but-kind-to-self tactics, as she was after more than sixty years of knowing she was alone.

Sennogi, nowadays, not only doesn't know this, but also blames herself for such unwarranted things.

But whose fault can one say these things are?

Rope was trying to save lives, Takeshi was trying to save lives.

Katsuhisa, though, doesn't know exactly what she's fighting for. But Rope, after a simple fight, clearly sensed that Katsuhisa definitely wasn't becoming a god for some boring goal like immortality.

Rope didn't know why Katsuhisa was so obsessed with being a god. But Rope thought, that must be another story.

But Rope looked at Sennogi in front of him and said seriously, "You'll find out later."

Sennogi's emotions calmed a little.

"When?"

"On our third acquaintance."

Rope's clueless comment made Sennogi frown, but Sennogi eventually relaxed her brow and flashed a pinky at Rope.

"Pull the hook."

Rope looked at Sennogi's serious face and this hooked pinky, dumbfounded, and then silently said, "Okay, hook."

Then the fingers of the two people just tangled together.

One had a child-like seriousness, and the other had a child-like fun.

The two's hands parted afterward, and then Sennogi turned in the direction of the large lake and spoke, "Rope, you know what?"

She pointed to the center lake and said, "This is where I played as a child. It wasn't the only place, but it was certainly one of the few places."

"My brother and I didn't really have too good of a time when we were kids. That's why my brother protected me from a young age. And because of that, there were actually a lot of places that I never went to play as a child. The village didn't have too many good places to play, but there was still a small park where you could play."

Rope had seen that place, not exactly a great playground. After all, the Village of the Lake really wasn't that big of a place either, and as the only place for children's entertainment, where it should be very popular indeed.

Rope could envision that image.

"But when I was a kid, ah, I only went there a couple times. Or Mizu took me there."

Sennogi didn't look at Rope, just a little bit of the usual sadness of autumn leaves in her tone.

"But this is the place I come to most often. I've walked by the lake here I don't know how many times. Most of the Pokémon in the lake know me."

Rope wasn't too skeptical, just a little shocked. After all, how many Pokémon were in this lake, Rope could tell by looking at the stars dotted with the Flame of Life like the nightlights in the metropolis of the original world.

That's why Rope was even more shocked by the natural connection between this girl and the water Pokémon, and Rope couldn't even figure out why Sennogi had stayed honestly by her side after more than sixty years. Seriously, Rope really felt that Sennogi could be a powerful Pokémon trainer if she was given enough space.

Of course, great was not an adjective to be used indiscriminately.

"So they're actually all my friends."

Sennogi's tone carried an undisguised sense of pride. But Rope also understood that there was nothing wrong with Pokémon being good friends to humans. But a child who only had Pokémon during his childhood was probably far from having a perfect childhood.

Of course, there was no such thing as a so-called standard. A person's childhood was perfect or not. Only he or she could evaluate it.

"I don't know if there's a place for any other Pokémon in your plans... "Sennogi turned her head and looked earnestly at Rope with a hint of pleading on her face.

Rope couldn't help but take a deep breath...he could already guess what Sennogi was going to say.

"To take all the other Pokémon???"

Seito looked at Takeshi in front of him with a look of disbelief. It was like looking at a drunken lunatic.

Takeshi didn't care about the look in his eyes, he just nodded a little tiredly. He hadn't slept all day. It was normal to be in such a mental state. After all, no matter how strong he was, he was still just a human. Unlike a non-human like Rope, not sleeping for even a day or two was not a problem.

"But Village Chief. It's going to take a huge investment! So huge that... "Seito opened his mouth and waved his hand, but failed to utter any meaningful hoo or make any meaningful gestures.

It was obvious...he couldn't describe it.

For the investment was outrageously large. Even the cheapest red and white ball required a large sum of money. It was so much money that it was unimaginable.

The Pokémon in the lake would be astronomical. Likewise...the number of balls would have to be astronomical. And this astronomical number was clearly not something they could afford. It wasn't something they could accept to the extent of this one village.

"This is what Sennogi wanted,"

Takeshi simply spoke silently.

...

"I'll do it."

Rope spoke up, smiling at Sennogi.

Sennogi looked at Rope with some surprise. she felt something was wrong moments after she made the request.

Just as she was about to laugh and say that she was joking, Rope directly agreed to this.

Like it was an easy promise to buy you a lollipop.

Sennogi smiled as she spoke, "No need to do that, I'm just saying it off the top of my head."

"I'm not just saying it."

Rope shrugged.

"Please don't underestimate the man in front of you alright." Rope had a smirk on his face.

"This man is a god!"

"You launched a prayer in front of a god in front of a god, as a god I can't just watch!"

Rope smiled gently.

Sennogi looked at this gentle smile. She couldn't help but have a hint of tenderness in her eyes, along with teardrops welling up.

"Thank you, Rope."

"There's no need to say things like thank you with me."

Rope stepped forward and gave her a courtesy hug.
