In the past, I'd had chances to advance my career, but my weak language skills and attachment to Patrick held me back.

Patrick and I grew close during our second year of university. Now, two years post-graduation, he was the center of my world.

I'd lost sight of my ambitious goals, focusing solely on Patrick. It hurt when I'd work late and ask for a ride, only for him to question if I was a child.

But for Samuel, it was different. Patrick would rush out at any hour if Samuel called, claiming he feared darkness. Patrick didn't realize I shared that fear and was even younger than Samuel.

This realization made me uneasy, so I quickly agreed, "Alright, I'll go this time."

Helen exclaimed happily, "That's the spirit! Women should prioritize themselves. Strength brings completeness."

"But Helen, you know my language skills are..." I laughed nervously.

"That's easy to fix. We have a month. Join a course to improve - I'm going too. What's there to worry about?"
