Realizing she couldn't conceal the facts any longer, Sandy adopted an innocent facade once more.
"Ethan, I'm not certain if your claims are accurate, but I trust that Alex isn't that sort of individual. He assured me he wasn't responsible, and I have faith in him."
Ethan gazed at Sandy and let out a resigned sigh, then gently stroked her hair.
"You're far too naive."
Noticing Ethan's belief in her words, Sandy grasped his hand with tear-filled eyes.
"Ethan, Alex is my only sibling. I beg you, please help him, won't you?"
Upon seeing Sandy's piteous state, Ethan's resolve finally crumbled.
"If I had no intention of assisting him, I would have alerted the authorities when I discovered the evidence. Rest assured, your brother is like family to me. I'll do everything in my power to help him succeed in this legal battle."
Sandy felt utterly relieved upon hearing Ethan's declaration, and she promptly embraced him.
