Glenn's agitated voice crackled through the phone, brimming with exasperation. "What's taking you so long? I've been waiting for ages!"
His tone wavered between despair and irritation. "It was just an argument. Are we really going to let this spoil our big day? Have you considered all the guests waiting? How can we proceed if you're not here? Should we just call the whole thing off?"
I let out a mocking chuckle, my patience wearing thin. "Sure, let's cancel it. We're finished anyway."
After a moment of silence, Glenn's voice returned, sounding stunned. "You need to calm down. Have you thought about what this means for Adalynn?"
He was about to defend Adalynn, but I interrupted, my frustration evident. "The wedding's already been paid for. If you're so fond of her, why don't you marry her instead? I'll even give up my place."
