Upon returning to the hotel, I concentrated on gathering my belongings and planning an extended stay in Hudson City. The place I was leaving held too many painful recollections of Glenn. It wasn't just the locations that triggered memories; even thinking about them made me feel uneasy.
I thought relocating might offer a fresh start, but fate had other plans. After resigning from my job, I unexpectedly encountered Glenn. He was standing outside my office building, looking bewildered and slightly unkempt.
When he spotted me, he quickly stood up, hastily adjusting his appearance as if we were about to embark on one of our usual outings.
"Ad—Adriana, we need to discuss some things," he said with urgency.
