Chapter 7 unexpected

It was finally Monday, which meant it was a school day Alex was so excited her wait was over and there wouldn't be any chores and all for the next five days as it was all school day.

Alex prepared for school, and so were Burno and Linda, Alex was in. a hurry to get to school on time, as she couldn't wait to meet Mr. Max and spend time with him.

Alex thought it was just going to be a regular school day as always not knowing what was about to unfold today.

Alex had finished getting dressed and was about to head to school, Alex went to bid her mom goodbye.

"Good morning Mom" Alex greeted

 "Morning dear" Alex's mom replied

" I'm ready to leave for school," Alex said

"Alright, be a good girl at school, okay?" Alex's mom said with a warm smile.

"I will Mom" Alex responded

" Okay bye then," said Alex's mom

 "Bye!"

Alex walked out of the door and left for school, a few minutes later, she arrived at school. Alex's school was about 20 minutes from school.

Alex entered the school gate, her eyes moving around as she scanned the area for any sign of Mr. Max. After a few seconds of searching and not spotting him, she sighed and made her way to her classroom.

Soon after, Linda, Bruno, and other students began to arrive, students chatting and filling the room as the school day officially began. Despite the usual hustle of the morning, one thing was noticeably off—Mr. Max still hadn't shown up.

Alex sat at her desk, her brows furrowed in concern. She couldn't shake the uneasy feeling she had. Where is he? It wasn't like him to be late.

The worry was evident on her face, and Linda, who sat beside her, couldn't help but notice immediately.

"Alex, you good?" Linda asked, her voice soft but curious.

"Sure, why?" Alex replied quickly, forcing a smile.

"You look worried. It's written all over your face. You know you can tell me if something's wrong, right?" Linda pressed, her tone laced with concern.

"Of course, I know that, but… nothing's wrong," Alex said, her voice a little too firm to be convincing.

"You sure?" Linda tilted her head, not convinced.

"Yes, I am," Alex replied, a little quickly this time, her gaze shifting away from Linda.

"Okay, if u say so, " Linda said

It was time for Mr Henry's class, he was going to be taking accounting.

He worked into the class and greeted his students.

"Good morning class" Mr. Henry greeted his students

"Good morning Mr Henry" they greeted in unison

Mr Henry began the class immediately, the students had begun to write, while Mr. Henry explained.

A few minutes into the class ending Mr max arrived, he didn't head to his class immediately, he went straight to the principal office.

Alex was still in Mr Henry, with her mind wandering why Mr Max hadn't come yet, paying no attention to class, not knowing he just arrived.

Mr max enters Mrs charlotte's office.

"Good morning Mrs charlotte" he greeted.

"Good morning why are you late today," Mrs Charlotte asked.

"I'm sorry for being late, I had my reason, Mrs Charlotte," he said.

"Okay, ma I know what your reason is ?" Mrs Charlotte asked.

"Sure, I want to a school, my friend teaches there. They invited us for a math and spelling bee competition with their students." Mr Max said.

"Ohh wow, that's great but you could have let me know all this beforehand" Mrs Charlotte responded.

"I'm sorry" he apologized

"It's fine, what's the day of the competition?" Mrs charlotte said

"The competition will take place on Friday" Mr Max responded.

"Okay, that's nice, where is the school located, and how many schools her need to go to for the competition?" Mrs charlotte asked

"It's very close by, it's just a few walks away from here and only two students would be needed for our school, one each for math and spelling bee competition." Mr Max explained.

"Okay!! So do any students in mind? If you do there won't be any need to announce it to each classroom teacher." Mrs Charlotte said.

"Yes, I have one person in mind for the mathematics competition but I have no one in mind to represent us in the spelling bee competition." Mr Max replied.

"Who do you have in mind to represent our school in the mathematics competition? And I'm sure you can find someone good enough to represent us in the spelling bee before Friday," Mrs. Charlotte said, her voice calm.

"It's Alex," Mr. Max replied confidently. "She's one of our top students in mathematics, and I'm positive she can bring home the trophy. As for the spelling bee, I'll find someone who can rise to the challenge. It won't be easy, especially since we're competing against more than five other schools, but I'm confident we'll win."

"Okay, I like that. If you have picked, go and get them

Prepared" Mrs Charlotte said.

"Sure I will do that" Mr Max responded.

While Mr max was still in Mrs. Charlotte's office discussing the competition, Mr Henry's class just ended. Alex was still worried and wondering why Mr Max hadn't come to school yet. Immediately after Mr. Henry left the class, Linda went to meet Burno. She wanted to know how far he had gotten in writing the note.

" Hey! How are you doing?" Linda asked.

"I'm good you?" Bruno replied

"I'm good too, I just want to know how far you have gotten In the note you are writing."

"Ohh I am far off, I'm almost done with this, " Burno said

"Alright cool let me know when you are done. I'd give you some other notes too." Linda replied

"Okay!" said Burno.

Mr max and Mrs. Charlotte were done discussing, Mr max was heading into the class to relax but he had to head to Alex's class to inform her she would be representing the school in the math competition and also pick one of the students in her call to representing for the spelling competition.

Alex was resting on her deck when Mr max walked into the class, the sound of other students greeting him woke her up, and she stood up immediately after hearing Mr max's name in excitement.

"Good afternoon Mr max" the students greeted In unison

"Good afternoon class" Mrs responded while he gazed at Alex

"Please have your seats. I have some information to share with everyone," Mr. Max said. "But first, who would like to represent the school in a spelling competition?"

The room fell silent.

"I can!" Linda stood up, breaking the silence.

"Really? Are you good at spelling?"

"Yes, I am. I'm confident about it," Linda responded confidently. Buffet Me That is not smooth. Is your mouth

"Wow, that's great," Mr. Max said, looking impressed. He then turned to the class and asked, "Is she really that good?"

"Yes, Mr. Max!" the class responded in unison.

Linda was well-known in the school for her exceptional spelling skills. She had beaten almost every class she had faced in competitions and was the undisputed spelling champion in her grade.

"Alright then, that's settled," Mr. Max said with a smile. "Now, the information I wanted to share is this: we've been invited to participate in a school competition this Friday. It will feature two events—a mathematics competition and a spelling competition."

"Wow!" the class erupted in excited chatter.

"Since Linda will be representing us in the spelling competition," Mr. Max continued, "Alex will represent the school in mathematics."

"What?!" Alex shouted...…
