24. Her decision to make

Hearing her question like that and with the innocent expression, Geneveive didn't know what to do. She indeed had questions to ask and a lot more. She wanted to say to Lloyd, like explaining herself, so he didn't misunderstand, but now, even when presented with an opportunity like this, she still couldn't.

It was far too embarrassing to speak now.

"Pearl," Lloyd called her attention, and she immediately whipped her head to her father.

"Daddy," she said, looking innocently at him.

"Don't pressure her, okay?" he said, but Pearl frowned. He smiled and carried her to keep on his lap. "Whenever she is ready to ask, I am here to listen. So let her be okay?"

Pearl pouted but then nodded her head. "Okay," she said in whisper.

"Pearl," Geneveive called, and she looked at her. "It's okay. I just haven't really figured out what I wanted to talk about. When I do, I promise I'll ask, okay?"
