"Madam," she heard the familiar voice behind her, but she didn't quite register whose it was and turned, almost snapping at the person.
Once she saw who it was, she took a deep breath and calmed herself.
"I am sorry if I startled you. Madam," Carl said, his voice low and stance humble, but his eyes never left the woman in front of him.
"Thats fine, I didn't realize it was you earlier, Carl. I apologize," Evelyn said. The butler smiled and brushed it off.
"It was wrong of me to have come to you like that. That's on me," he said.
He had heard a little of their conversation, but he was not in the position to either console or reprimand the lady. But he knew without a doubt that Evelyn was unhappy with the way it ended and undoubtedly, Silas' supposed relationship with Anna.
