If you never try, you'll never know

I got home from work. Killian's car wasn't at home, which meant he was still at work. I decided to send him a message. I didn't call him because he might be in a meeting and I didn't want to interrupt.

"Killian, I'm home now. I've decided to take a few days off. Will you be back soon or will you be late?"

He answered me quickly. "I'm in a meeting, but I'll be home for dinner."

I went up to my room and changed into something comfortable. I hadn't had time to eat properly this morning, so I was really hungry. I went downstairs and headed to the kitchen, thinking I'd make something. When I entered the kitchen, Amelia was there. She was happy to see me.

Amelia: "Lily dear, you're back early. Are you hungry? I can make you something."

Me: Thank you. I'm hungry. I didn't have time to eat in the morning.

I'm glad she takes such good care of me. I also helped her prepare the food. Even though we don't know each other well, I feel comfortable with her. Even though Tim teaches me how to cook when he has free time, I'm terrible at cooking. I can cook simple things. 

Amelia: "What are your plans for today?"

I don't have any plans because I never had a day off. I was always studying or working. I don't know what to do, and final exams start in a few days. 

Me: To tell you the truth, I don't know what I want to do.

Amelia: "We can go shopping or have a rest. I'll talk to Killian and go somewhere together."

I know Killian has a lot of work to do and I don't want to bother him. Mia is at work. Tim is probably back home with Willy. The only one who will have free time now is Nora, but she will be with her friends. This means that for the first time, I will have time to take care of myself.

Me: I haven't decided what I want to do yet. I'll rest for a while and then decide what to do.

Amelia: "It would be nice to have a break. I know you work hard."

Me: I still can't believe I'm resting. Since I have a few days, I better plan ahead and do something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

I know what I want to do. I immediately went to my room. I decided to text Tim first and find out if they were still here or if they had returned home.

Me: Tim, have you left already?

Tim: "Yes, we've already left. Final exams and the competition are coming up, so we can't stay any longer. Did something happen?"

Me: Nothing happened, I'm just relaxing and I thought we'd go somewhere together. 

Tim: "Did you take days off? I don't believe it."

Me: I know, I can't believe it either. Okay, I'll send Nora a message then.

Tim: "After the exams, you and Killian came to visit us. There's a competition soon and I want you to attend."

Me: I'll tell Killian and we'll come to the competition to cheer you on.

Tim has been preparing for this competition for a long time, and of course, I will go to support him. I said goodbye to him and now sent a message to Nora.

Me: Nora, do you have free time tomorrow?

Nora: "I have to go to university in the morning and then I have free time."

Me: "Great, then let's meet tomorrow. I want you to teach me how to shoot."

Tim and Nora always talk about how great shooting is. When you're looking at the target, you don't think about anything and your mind is free. My mind is always overloaded with thoughts, so I was often told to go shooting with them, but I never had time for that.

Nora: "How did you come to want to learn to shoot?"

Me: You always say it's good, so I want to try it, and I have free time now. I don't think I'll make a good shooter, but still.

Nora: "If you never try, you'll never know. You won't find a better teacher than me anywhere. My father and I taught Tim how to shoot, you see how successful he is."

Tim and Nora grew up together. It was through Tim that we met. Since Tim had to leave the country for a competition, Mia and I are now taking care of Nora. Although we rarely see her, we will always be there for her if she needs anything. 

Nora and I agreed to meet tomorrow afternoon. Since I have time before then, I can plan something else. Because I had no idea what to do, I searched the Internet for things I could do in my free time. I mostly came across articles about exercising and learning new things, but this is already part of my daily life.

I decided to go swimming tomorrow morning and then meet Nora. I haven't been swimming in a long time. I checked the weather and it's going to be hot tomorrow, so it'll be great to cool off. I enjoyed watching the movie with Killian and his family, so I added it to my list. I want to spend time with Killian too, so I need to find out when he's free.

Since Killian won't be home until evening, and I'm bored and don't know what to do, I decided to go to the company. I got ready, got dressed, and went to the company to see him. I bought some food before I got to the company, because I was sure they wouldn't be able to eat because of the meeting. I rarely come here. Nothing has changed since I was last here. He was probably still in a meeting, so I went to his secretary.

Me: Hello. Is Killian still in the meeting?

Secretary: "Hello, yes, back to the meeting, but it should be over soon. If you want, you can wait in the office."

Me: Thank you.

I went to Killian's office to wait for him. I didn't have to wait long. The door soon opened and Killian entered the office.

Killian: "Have you been waiting for me for a long time? The secretary told me you came to see me and I immediately ran here."

Me: I knew you wouldn't be able to eat because of the meeting, so I brought you some food.

His eyes lit up when he heard this. He seemed happy.

Killian: "Thank you. I don't know what else to say. I was very surprised and happy to see you here..."

Me: You're welcome. Do you have free time? I want to watch a movie or do something together.

Killian: "I will always find time for you."

My heart started beating fast.

Me: I know you're tired. Eat now and then we'll go.

I'm glad to see him so happy. I know very well how tiring it is to attend meetings. 

The office door opened and Henry entered.

Henry: "Killian, we don't have any other meetings today and I'm going home. What are you planning to do?"

Killian: "Lily and I will be back late."

We left soon after Henry left. I caught sight of my father at the entrance, but I didn't want to see him. I don't want to ruin my mood by seeing him.

Killian opened the car door for me and I got in the car. I have no idea where we're going, but I'm sure Killian would have picked a good place.

Killian: "We have to stop somewhere first."

Me: Where are we going?

Killian: "I have to buy some things first and you'll know when we get there."

The car stopped in front of the building, Killian got out and bought some things. Then we continued driving again. We will go beyond the city.

Killian: "We are already here."

We got out of the car. The view of the illuminated city unfolded ahead. It was a very beautiful sight.

Killian: "Since you want to relax, I thought a picnic would be a good idea."

Me: It's very beautiful. I never noticed that. 

A quiet place, a beautiful view, and a picnic are the perfect combination. We can really have a good rest here. Very few stars were visible due to the city lights. It would be so beautiful to see a sky full of stars, but it's fine as it is.

Killian put his suit on me because it was a little chilly. 

Killian: "I bought you sweets because I know you love them."

Me: Thank you

I'm slowly getting used to it, he and his family always take care of me. I'm glad to be part of their family. I think I found a place I can call my home. 

Me: I have to meet my friend tomorrow and I don't know when I'll be back.

Killian: "That's great. Call me and I'll pick you up."

Me: I'm going to go to Tim's after I finish my exams. He and Willy are competing and he invited us both. He's been preparing for it for a long time and I had to be there to support him.

Killian: "Let me know the exact date and I'll take a few days off to come with you."

Me: I'll ask Tim and let you know.

I'm really happy to have met him. He makes me feel special. Not only through his words, but also through his actions, I am convinced of how much he loves me.
