CH: 28 The Final Steps

[Chapter: 28 The Final Steps]

William walked slowly. "I only have ten days. It seems if I want to get the Tesseract, I need to hurry up and put my plan into action."

"You bastards, you lost to some idiot holding a shield!" Schmidt exclaimed angrily.

"What happened? Why are you so angry?" William asked after entering Schmidt's office, where Schmidt was screaming on the phone.

Seeing William, Schmidt calmed his anger. "Several more of our arsenals were destroyed by that Captain America, and now our weapon production can't keep up with the demand. Hitler's on one side, and the British, French, and the United States Army on the other side are jointly trying to deal with us."

William smiled a little. It seemed that Hydra was in a bad situation, and maybe he could use this to his advantage. "Sir Schmidt, don't be impatient. The Hydra legion will stand at the top of this planet, and no one can stop that."

"The only person I can count on now is you, William. The rest are just... don't let me down," Schmidt said, his eyes showing trust.

"Rest assured, I will prove that I'm worthy of the trust you put in me." William nodded, while thinking, 'Hehehe, I will let you see that you shouldn't have trusted people so easily. Let it be a life lesson for you.'

William walked out. Since now there were no more people near Schmidt, there was no way for him to continue researching the weapons. Zola was ambushed by Captain Clown when he went to an arsenal.

Zola has been captured. According to Zola's greed for life and fear of death, he would definitely tell the location of Hydra's headquarters to the allies.

"And I just need to reap the benefits at the last moment," William smiled a little.

Peggy came over. "Is this world really just one of the many worlds out there?"

"Of course," William nodded.

"So you're getting ready to leave, right?" Peggy looked into William's eyes.

"Peggy, you are really a genius. You found out without being told."

"Where are you going?"

William thought for a while. "A place called the Villain Space."

"Villain Space?! So what you said before about doing bad things to survive was because of this?"

"Ha, oh yes, because of this." At first, he couldn't remember, but then he recalled what he had told her, his lie about how he could only live if he did bad things, and just nodded and said yes.

Peggy just shook her head, sighing.

William put a hand on the back of his head and touched it. "Don't praise me like this. I'll be embarrassed."

"Are you still embarrassed? Pigs can go up the tree, be despicable, shameless, indecent, unscrupulous, do all bad things. No one is better than you," Peggy's eyes carried a hint of resentment.

William secretly sweated. "Even if I am like this, you love me, right?"

Peggy's face turned slightly red. She moved her face aside and said coldly, "Who will love you? It's better that you die."

"Ah, women," William said with a sardonic grin, spreading his hands wide as if delivering some profound revelation. "Their lips speak one truth, while their hearts whisper another entirely. Such a delightful contradiction, such wonderful creatures, don't you think?"

"Hum," Peggy snorted coldly.

William held Peggy's hand and walked forward. "Come with me."

"What are you doing?"

"Serve you a little and let you say you love me," William said.

"Asshole, let go of me!" Peggy wanted to break free from William's hand.

William simply picked up Peggy and strode on, struggling for glory again for the heavenly man.

---

In the jungle at the foot of the Alps, a motorcycle was driving fast, and you could clearly see that there was a shield on the back of the rider. Yes, this person was Captain America, Steve.

Behind Captain America, there were seven or eight motorcycles tracking him, of course, from Hydra.

In front of the iron gate, in the middle of the gate, was an armored vehicle firing a blue energy ball, bombarding toward Steve.

Boom! Boom! The shots missed.

Steve steered the motorcycle quickly, showing its power. Two small missiles were fired from it.

Boom!

The armored vehicle was blasted off just like that, with fireworks and debris flying all over the sky. This only proves the fact that the protagonist, no matter how small, can destroy anything with a punch. This is just absurd. These tanks were made from materials hard to find, and there was a reason they were called super tanks. They had survived attacks from rockets, and now a small rocket fired by a motorcycle was capable of obliterating it. That is just messed up.

Steve dashed through the gate on the motorcycle, fell from the sky, and landed in a camp outside the base. Suddenly, Hydra soldiers began to attack.

Boom! Boom! Ha!

Steve fought bravely, fists and feet, shields fluttering, and one by one, Hydra soldiers were blown away.

Ten soldiers with weird guns sprayed a thick fire and surrounded Steve. Steve stopped attacking and looked back and forth as the fire surrounded him.

The Hydra soldiers around him immediately surrounded him with guns. "Bring him to Lord Schmidt. He will execute him personally."

Steve was taken to Schmidt's command room by two soldiers, and Schmidt walked step by step.

"I have to say that you were better than the others, but even you can't do anything against my power, Captain," Schmidt's eyes were a little proud. "Still, tell me, since you knew Dr. Abraham, what did he say about me?"

"He told me you were crazy," Steve said lightly.

Schmidt was silent for a while, then said, "He was just jealous of my talents and wanted to deny what belongs to me, but he gave you everything, so tell me, what's so special about you? What puts you in a different position than the rest of us?"

"Nothing big, I was just righteous," Steve smiled.

Schmidt's expression darkened for a while. This was taunting him. "Ah!" Schmidt yelled and hit Steve, kicking him to the ground.

"I can do this all day," Steve said while looking up at Schmidt.

"Yes, of course you can, but I'm a bit busy now." Schmidt took out a gun and aimed at Steve.

Clang!

A few crunches came, and three iron claws attached to a rope pierced the rock wall outside the window. Vaguely, you could see several people using the rope to quickly move toward the window.

Boom!

Three people broke into the window, blasting wildly with machine guns, and then three others broke into the window.

"Abominable," Schmidt cursed, and pulled the trigger toward Steve.

Steve roared, and a Hydra soldier dragged him over here, blocking him. The bullets tore through the soldier's body.

The surrounding Hydra soldiers were all killed, and when Schmidt saw the situation was bad, he sprinted out of the place.

Steve picked up his shield and quickly followed after him.

---

William and Peggy came to a vast internal runway, which was more like a large square in the mountains, with bright lights everywhere.

"If Schmidt is going to run away, he will be flying this gray plane." William looked at the huge black plane, shaped like a bat, in front of them.
