{Chapter: 124 Mutant Crow King}
Boom!
In the swirling chaos of the yellow sands, a massive black crow, towering ten meters in height, crashed to the ground with a deafening thud. Its sharp beak, razor-like talons, and sleek, blade-like feathers glinted menacingly under the dim sunlight. Its crimson eyes, like burning coals, exuded a sinister intelligence that set it apart from any ordinary creature. This was no mere bird—it was a monster.
"The Mutant Crow King," William murmured, perched atop a crumbling building. His gaze locked onto the beast, a flicker of excitement dancing in his eyes.
The "Cow," as the mutant crow king screeched, flapped its enormous wings with immense force. The gust of wind it produced was so powerful it raised a storm of yellow sand, flipping over abandoned vehicles and disintegrating nearby buildings into rubble. The air was thick with debris and chaos as the monstrous bird surveyed its surroundings.
With each step the Mutant Crow King took, it left deep claw marks etched into the ground. It began feasting, devouring zombies scattered around as though they were mere insects. Its sharp beak ripped through flesh and bone with ease, swallowing entire bodies whole. Occasionally, it would snatch up a human, their screams drowned out by the cacophony of its movements.
On a vantage point high above, atop the remains of the Eiffel Tower, Terry and Kmart watched the horrific scene unfold. Their faces were pale, their breaths shallow.
"What the fuck is that thing? It's terrifying," Terry whispered, his voice trembling.
"It's no wonder this city doesn't have zombies wandering around anymore," Jill commented dryly, her sharp eyes fixed on the monstrous bird below.
"But aren't those zombies down there?" Kmart asked, pointing at the writhing figures on the ground.
Jill shook her head. "Those aren't ordinary zombies. They're different—raised deliberately by someone and brought here as bait."

Meanwhile, Claire, now alone and desperate, hid behind an overturned car, gasping for breath. Sweat streaked her dirt-smudged face as she muttered to herself, "How did it come to this? What kind of nightmare is this?"
From his elevated position, William's gaze shifted toward a helicopter fleeing the scene. "So, Issacs ran away," he remarked with a faint smirk. "But that's fine. He'll make for a good appetizer later."
The "Cow," still screeching, prepared to take flight, its belly full of devoured prey. But William wasn't about to let such a prize escape. The mutant's corpse likely contained rare corpse beads, treasures too valuable to let slip away.
As the beast spread its wings, William's body floated effortlessly into the air, rising to intercept it.
"William, what the hell is he doing?" Terry exclaimed in disbelief, gripping the railing of the tower tightly.
"He's going to try and kill that monster," Jill said, her tone laced with both admiration and concern.
"Is that even possible?" Kmart asked, his voice tinged with fear. "That thing's massive—it's suicide!"
Elsewhere, Alice emerged from the shadows of a crumbling wall. Her eyes flicked between the monstrous crow and William, who hovered in mid-air with an air of confidence. "William," she muttered with a hint of venom, "I will kill you. But not yet. Let that creature deal with you first." She remained hidden, content to watch the battle unfold for now.
Not far away, Claire peeked out from her hiding spot, her eyes narrowing as they fell upon William. Hatred flared within her. "This is all his fault," she whispered through gritted teeth. "He planned this whole mess, and my team paid the price." Yet, despite her anger, she knew better than to intervene. "Let him deal with that monster," she thought bitterly. "I'll deal with him later."
Unfazed by the tension brewing around him, William floated closer to the mutant crow, a sly, almost wicked smile playing on his lips. "Want to use me as a pawn in your schemes, huh? Let's see who comes out on top."
The "Cow" mutant crow king let out an ear-piercing screech, its crimson eyes locking onto William. The creature was enraged, furious that this insignificant bug dared to challenge it. Pale cyan wind blades materialized around the crow, sharp and deadly, and shot toward William like arrows loosed from a bow.
William's pupils flashed, and an invisible force surged outward from his body. The telekinetic barrier he conjured halted the wind blades in mid-air, holding them at bay ten meters from his position.
The "Cow" screeched louder, its fury intensifying. The wind blades began to grow, each expanding to five times its original size, their edges gleaming with lethal sharpness.
Crack! A sound like shattering glass filled the air as the massive wind blades pierced through William's telekinetic barrier, hurtling toward him with devastating speed.
William vanished in a blur, narrowly evading the deadly assault. He reappeared a moment later, his figure hovering effortlessly above the chaos. "Interesting," he muttered, his eyes glinting with a mix of madness and exhilaration.
He couldn't help but compare this creature to the mutant great white shark he'd encountered at sea. Unlike that beast, the crow king demonstrated a frightening level of intelligence, wielding the power of its corpse bead with precision. The shark, in contrast, had been a brute, relying solely on its raw strength.
The "Cow" mutant crow king roared in frustration, its wings beating furiously. A cyclone of wind swirled around it, forming a shield of razor-sharp gales. William's telekinetic attacks struggled against the barrier, managing only to dislodge a few feathers.
"Good, very good," William said with a grin, his excitement mounting.
Suddenly, the crow king lunged, its sharp beak aiming straight for him like a missile. William disappeared again, reappearing on the creature's back. Without hesitation, he drove his fist into its spine.
The crow king screeched in pain, its body convulsing. It twisted violently, summoning a flurry of miniature whirlwinds around its attacker. Each whirlwind struck William with immense force, battering his body relentlessly.
Despite the pain, William's laughter echoed through the storm. "This is more like it!" he shouted, his voice brimming with defiance and exhilaration.
The battle raged on, as the yellow sands below bore witness to the clash of titans.
