{Chapter: 158 Immortality}

Alice stared at the bold red Umbrella Corporation logo emblazoned on the sealed iron door before her. Her grip tightened on her weapon, her expression unreadable.

"It's the Umbrella Company," she muttered.

William stepped forward, his movements unhurried as he placed a hand on the door. "Aren't you curious about what's inside?" he asked with a smirk.

As if responding to his words, the sealed iron door suddenly hissed, then slowly slid open. William walked to the door and slowly spread his hands. As William spread his hands, the sealed iron door opened synchronously.

Darkness yawned beyond the threshold, an eerie silence stretching through the unseen corridors. Alice and the others immediately raised their flashlights, sweeping the beams across the interior.

Click… click… click…

A series of overhead lights flickered to life, revealing an enormous, sterile white hall. The space was immaculate—almost unnervingly so, as if it had never been touched by human hands.

Luther took a step forward, glancing around warily. "Where the hell is everyone? Something feels off."

Alice crouched down, running her fingertips across the pristine floor before pressing her palm against it. A moment later, her eyes narrowed in realization.

"They're right beneath us," she said grimly.

Alice squatted down and put one hand on the ground and touched it. "I understand, they are right under our feet."

White Queen, the little AI construct in human form, quietly walked over to a nearby shelf and picked up a handheld device resting there. She studied the screen before glancing up at Claire.

"The company continues to conduct experiments on the survivors." The White Queen handed the handheld computer to Claire. "The people you're looking for—they're inside."

Claire took the computer and quickly scrolled through the information. Her breath hitched as she came across a familiar face.

"K-Mart," she whispered, her heart pounding.

"Let's bring them up," Alice ordered without hesitation.

Claire nodded and tapped a command on the device.

A soft hissing sound filled the room as cold mist rose from the floor. A moment later, white glass chambers began emerging from hidden panels, lining the massive hall like eerie sentinels.

"So many people…" Luther breathed, taking a step back.

"They've all been used as test subjects," Alice said, her voice tinged with anger.

Claire's gaze darted around frantically before locking onto one particular chamber. "There she is!" She rushed toward it, pressing a hand against the transparent surface.

The chamber began to unlock, and as the glass rotated open, K-Mart collapsed forward—straight into William's waiting arms.

K-Mart gasped, struggling weakly, her body trembling. It was clear she had been subjected to the same memory-wiping technique Claire had endured.

"It's okay, K-Mart," Claire said, her voice soothing but firm. "Calm down. We're here to help."

"Take off the spider on her chest." Alice reached out and grabbed the small red device latched onto K-Mart's chest—a mechanical parasite clinging to her skin. She ripped it off without hesitation.

Claire handed the handheld device to William. "Get the rest of them out."

William gave her a casual salute before strolling through the chamber, studying the names on each pod.

"No need to waste your time," Alice called out. "Jill and Terry aren't here. I'm afraid you are disappointed." Alice said with a hint of sarcasm.

William turned and looked at Alice, "How can I be disappointed? Aren't you still here, Alice?"

Alice's expression darkened. "Don't flatter yourself."

William merely chuckled. "A shame, really. But at least I still have you, Alice."

Alice's jaw tightened. "Humph! Enough. What's going on between you and Claire? She knows you cheated on her, and you did that kind of beastly thing with her yet she's still acting like none of it happened." Her tone was sharp, edged with something unreadable.

William stepped closer, his smirk widening. "Because she's my woman."

Alice scoffed. ""What a joke? No one would be so stupid to be cheated and cheated by you and still become your woman. Do you think I will believe your nonsense?" Alice's eyes were extremely complicated. "No one would be stupid enough to let themselves get played like that and then still stick around."

"Why is it impossible?" William leaned in slightly, lowering his voice. "Why is it so hard to believe?"

"Absolutely impossible, I will not allow this to happen." Alice's tone was a little excited. Alice snapped. Her reaction was sharper than she intended, and her fists clenched at her sides.

William's smirk deepened as he studied her. "You sound a little too worked up about this. Almost… jealous."

"Humph, stop being narcissistic, I wish I could kill you, jealous, joke." Alice's eyes moved to the side. Alice looked away. "Don't be ridiculous."

William reached out, catching her chin between his fingers, forcing her to meet his gaze. "Are you sure?"

"Take your hand away, don't touch me." Alice's eyes burned with cold fury. "Take your hand off me."

"We touched each other at a negative distance, is there anything else we can't touch?" He released her with an amused chuckle. "Does a little touch really bother you?"

Alice's teeth clenched. "I don't acknowledge any of that. Consider it nothing more than a dog bite."

William shook his head in mock disappointment. "So stubborn. But don't worry, I said you would be conquered by me now I let you go, there is still plenty of time." William took his hand away.

"Don't even think about it."

"Whether you want to or not, it depends on whether you can do it." William walked forward.

"Not if I kill you first," she muttered, turning on her heel and moving deeper into the facility.

William followed, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Ahead of them, two glass chambers stood apart from the rest—both heavily stained with crimson. The sight of the blood-slicked surfaces sent a chill through the air.

"I think we've found something interesting," William mused as he approached one of the pods.

Alice's brows furrowed. "What happened here?"

William ran a finger across the glass. "Someone was eaten."

Luther took an involuntary step back. "Eaten? By what?"

Alice's expression hardened. "This is Umbrella's domain. What kind of thing could get in here?"

William casually pointed at Alice, then at himself. "There are only two people in the world who have successfully integrated the T-virus: you and me. Well… almost as there is a semi-finished product."

Alice's lips pressed into a thin line. "Wesker."

William nodded. "Although he can maintain his rationality, the T-virus has been fighting with him for control of his body. To keep himself stable, he needs fresh human DNA."

Alice's fingers curled into a fist. "I killed him before. You're saying he's still alive?"

William grinned. "T-virus abilities vary. Enhanced speed, strength, those are just the basics. The most amazing thing is that they bring superpowers."

"The power of my mind?" Alice chuckled.

"Superhuman abilities—like your telekinesis."

Alice gave a bitter chuckle. "And what about your gifts?"

"Oh, you know—telekinesis, flight, teleportation. The usual. and there are more abilities waiting to be developed. As for Wesker? He's got teleportation and a regenerative healing factor. And as long as his body keeps repairing itself, he'll never stay dead."

Alice nodded, "I understand, immortality means he is still alive, and he eats people in this place to get DNA."

"Exactly," William confirmed. "And the person he'd love to eat the most? That would be you. And, of course, me. because we have successfully integrated the T-virus, and our DNA is much stronger than that of ordinary people. If he consumes our DNA, he can go from a semi-finished product to a finished product."

Alice smirked coldly. "Well, I guess I'll have to disappoint him." Without hesitation, she strode toward the door ahead." I really need to meet him and see how he plans to eat me."

As she approached, it slid open with a quiet hiss, revealing a stark white corridor lined with aircraft. Large helicopters sat on either side, silent and waiting.

"It looks like we're heading deeper in," William noted, stepping beside her.

Alice's lips curled slightly. "He's hiding, but not well enough."

William chuckled, then suddenly tilted his head toward her. His voice dropped to a whisper. "Not as deep as you—though I doubt anyone but me could truly explore you properly." William suddenly said. "Ordinary people will definitely not be able to even enter in you forget about satisfying you, only I can."

Alice halted mid-step, her eyes widening before narrowing into a deadly glare. Alice was stunned for a moment, then she understood, with a flash of shame and anger in her eyes, "You bastard," she hissed. "William, I must kill you." He actually mentioned that part of her.

William smirked, thoroughly entertained. "Relax. Just a joke." He gestured to the door ahead. "And look at that—it's opening."

Alice took a slow breath to compose herself before stepping forward. Whatever awaited them inside… she was more than ready.
