Priscilla felt his warm embrace wrapped around his arms, Vulcan covered both of them with a thick blanket that had been tucked away underneath the bed. The itchy wool rubbed against her porcelain skin, red patches emerging as they continued shaking for warmth. Despite the fire only having been gone for fifteen minutes, the heat had quickly rushed out of the cabin into the cold outside.
'Are they the vampires?!' She whispered softly to him.
'Yes..don't speak too loudly. They might leave if it seems no one is here.' He kept his voice no louder than the endless howls of winter trying to break the wooden cabin walls. Darkness engulfed everything, they could not even see each other huddling under the blanket, but her heart continued beating faster. Like a conga drum ready to explode at any given moment.
'Night Vision.' She whispered under her breath, the world suddenly turned visible again, through the cracks in the wooden door several red bloodshot eyes spun around endlessly searching for fresh blood. Priscilla shivered, not from the cold but the possibility of them entering and being torn apart.
To their right a small wooden stick with a little leaf hanging on, called to her, she couldn't perform any spells without a wand. A quick hand slithered across the floor and snatched it, as a test she pointed it toward the table where the spoons had been hanging in the still steamy stew. Infusing a little bit of her energy was all it took to get it in the air, it darted across the room, jamming itself in the eye of a vampire. Angry snarls erupted outside before falling dangerously quiet, for once she choose to listen to instinct and remain cloaked in the thick blanket.
'Are you alright Vulcan?' He stared through the darkness in her direction, though he couldn't have seen it, a feeling told him that Priscilla caused the sudden disappearance in noise.
'I am fine, let's stay like this a little longer. There is something telling me that they simply left for a brief moment.'
Priscilla began tinkering with the new wand and her existing repertoire of spells. In her pocket was the Justice card, but what criteria would she choose to judge them on? The vampires were mindless beast hunting for survival like any other creature, they wouldn't be guilty of murder as they are different species. A large invisible light bulb appeared over head. Once more casting Night Vision, this time placing the wand on his forehead.
'W-What is this?' He whispered, confused at his sudden ability to see through the veil of darkness.
'Don't freak out, but I am a witch.' It felt weird for her to admit that she was a witch after being told that secrecy is the most important thing for their survival. But as he was part of this scenario, there shouldn't be a problem
Vulcan chuckled to himself, a smile spreading across his cheeks. 'Of course you are. If there are vampires then why not witches?'
'Alright enough laughing. How long does night last here?'
'At this time of year? Close to thirteen hours. It will be difficult though, the fire is out and there aren't enough blankets for two people.'
'Crap, that sucks. I don't have that much time, the flow of time outside of this scenario also flows differently so those 72 hours could already be at half by now.' Her mind raced, trying to understand what the colour yellow had to do with this scenario.
'The blue key was a crystalized tear, so blue was sadness? Would yellow be happiness then? But how could anyone be happy when surrounded by vampires out for their blood.' She looked down at the watch, a heartbeat quickly followed by many alike, much faster than previous ones. Her eyes were caught onto they man's, her reflection spread across his gentle gaze.
'Could you hold me a little bit closer?'
