"Don't act so surprised, Joey," Janet said playfully. "My father's shared quite a few stories about you."

The reference to "Auntie" triggered a flood of feelings. Despite only a week passing since my departure, it felt like ages. Recollections rushed in, momentarily engulfing me.

After a prolonged pause, I muttered, "I guess... it's a sense of powerlessness."

Janet giggled softly behind her hand. "You're so candid, Joey. I could ask you anything, and you'd give an honest answer."

She rested against the balustrade, supporting her chin. A hint of melancholy crossed her face as she continued, "Let me pose another question. Can a captain who's unable to swim still be effective?"

I shifted my gaze to her. Her eyes, captivating and intense, met mine. She looked stunning.
