I've discovered I'm not as resilient as I thought. Recently, my mind has been wandering to the beginning of my relationship with Lester, revisiting those intimate moments and pondering how we arrived at this point.

Perhaps I'm to blame. Maybe spending my days at home painting caused me to lose the spark that initially drew him in. It's possible I couldn't measure up to someone like Samantha, vibrant and attractive, with the natural charm of a market vendor.

Enzo quickly refuted my self-criticism. "It's not your fault, Ami. He's the problem. He's just a jerk. You were deceived by his outward appearance from the beginning and didn't recognize his true character."

At that moment, we were sitting in a quaint coffee shop, viewing the surveillance video on my tablet.

The footage showed Lester and Samantha entering the flat carrying bags of provisions. The two youngsters greeted them joyfully.
