"You certainly are ambitious, Zixu, but I have come to know much more about you than I once did, and I have to say that the old fogey wasn't wrong, your knowledge of so many combat styles and weapons is indeed impressive, so I suppose that you multiplying the amount of cultivation technique you need to train in is only natural, though, don't push yourself too much, even if you manage to find a way to rotate so many techniques of different purposes and properties, it is likely to cause you problems eventually"

"Do not worry, I am not planning on cultivating all of the techniques I know at once, I am merely getting ready for when I have the occasion to… And besides, I need to have weapons to defend myself in close quarters, right?"

Ku Xing was leaning against a window, her arm halfway outside, taking in the subtly coldening air.

"Naturally… I suppose… Though I doubt you need a weapon to be dangerous in close-quarters, especially when what you call a close range, is mid-range for most, I am pretty tall myself, but with arms like yours, you could hit me with yours fist whilst I could not, unless I target your arms, of course" the elder was chewing on something as she spoke, ejecting it alongside a sizeable amount of saliva into her spittoon, rubbing her hands together.

"I'll tell you about something new today, instead of the typical training- You've surely noticed by now, but both me and Gang have abilities that doesn't seem to relate to what we cultivate, we can can tell how much one has been cultivating, the quality of their energy circulation and the likes, right?"

Edrick nodded, watching as she moved through the room and positioned herself right in front of the open window, pointing one finger out.

"When one reaches a great level in a cultivation technique, they might experience a sort of enlightenment if you will, unlocking certain capabilities… You might have read about a few, considering how much books you devour- Sensing one cultivation level and circulation capabilities are important, but the cooler one is definitely, this" she said, and something wooshed through the room, out of the window and rapidly disappeared over in the distance after losing momentum and falling down.

Anoteros rose an eyebrow, how in damnation had he not heard or read about this? Ku Xing literally just did a finger gun and actually fired something.

"There is also the ability to control your inner energy to reinforce your body for a short duration… That stuff is basically exactly what the mages do on the daily, but don't say that to any cultivators, they would get offended to be compared to the supposedly, puny mages" the elder chuckled.

"Dependings on the technique or techniques with which you achieve this 'enlightenment', your inner energy will undergo a change that could be small or big, it depends, but for example, your Mountain Sasquatch Body would probably make it most efficient when used to reinforce yourself for strength specifically, something of this sort"

Ku Xing went on explaining the theory behind it all and demonstrating a few times and then giving him the items he had requested before tonight's lesson came to an end, although Anoteros could probably command weapons suited for him directly, he did not know the best smiths or appropriate materials of this world, as such, it was just easier to leave it to his kind godmother for now.

In the dead of night, he exited Ku Xing's quarters carrying a large suitcase in which were the objects he had asked for, and there were three of them, two of which went along as a pair, the two weapons he had requested were rather far apart in terms of how they were to be used, one was a rapier, of which the length would allow him to poke someone in their bits without even getting nearly close enough to hear whatever they would mumble as they keeled over.

The other, was basically a baseball bat with metal bits, the correct name was a kanabo, but it was a weapon that fitted the explosive power this body possessed, a direct strike for it would render everything to mush and dust.

'Mmh…' Edrick exhaled, his breath absolutely visible even as he was still inside.

The way winter showed up in this world was strange, because there was technically autumn here too, but instead of a proper autumn in between summer and winter, some sort of hyperspeed fall season was happening with the trees losing their leaves in record times, absolutely filling the sect up, there was little telling when the true cold would show up.

Anoteros had already called for some work to be done upon his residence, at least upon certain rooms, but he had no clue if that would work out.

Arriving on the first floor, he looked around, hoping to catch sight of an outer disciple that would so kindly aid him in finishing that quest up, but there was absolutely no one today, only a singular figure, naturally shrouded in shadows due to the fact that the sun had set a while ago, could be seen vaguely under the moonlight, stepping into building.

Walking with small, but swift steps, the person went past Anoteros without acknowledging his existence, probably because he had been standing perfectly still in a pitch black corner.

He hadn't seen properly, but that guy's robes had looked to have been completely dark blue without any hint of white.

'Was that one of the famed core disciples?' he hadn't really tried to, but Edrick was surprised that none had shown up themselves to check the special disciple, he knew that they had hired Shu to do it, but Anoteros had figured that they would at least try to strike up a conversation on account that he was an Elt.

He shrugged and resumed his walk toward the exit, only then noticing someone else rushing in his direction, his face, shrouded by the building's ambient darkness, contorted into a smile.

For an outer disciple to come running to him, it was almost like he had been a saint in his previous life, with one hand, he stopped the young disciple, whose breath was spent, and face flushed red, exerting oneself when it was cold outside was a sure recipe for a runny nose and generally less than desirable disposition, but Edrick had seen worse in his time.

And as his grandfather's mantra stated, may his glorious soul rest in hell :

'All women are beautiful from behind'

"Hey girl, what's the hurry?" he asked, most charmingly, appearing like some sort of malevolent beast of dark as he was barely noticeable, even as she was just centimeters away from him.

"Huh…" she puffed for some air fidgeting around.

"D-Did you see a young man dressed in all dark blue go by here?" she asked, definitely in a hurry.

"Girl… You need to have business here to get in, and stalking someone, isn't business"

"Ah! I-I am not stalking him, I swear! I just need to tell him something! Did you see him?"

"Mmh… Fine, I am feeling generous, I did, in fact, see him go by a little while ago… But I have to reiterate that you can not be here…"

"Bu-"

"...However, I'll accompany you to him, then everything will be fine"

"Thank you…"

"Come on, follow me"
