Adam's breath stayed stuck in his lungs. This man was becoming really scary right now and he would rather walk out of this room and never set eyes on him again. How Xavian was never as intimidated as everyone was by their father, he could never understand.
"Adam." Caius Winslows leaned in on the table. "You'll do as I say, won't you?"
"Dad…"
He glared at him. "Adam, you will do it, won't you?"
"Yes." Adam nodded.
Caius's face morphed from quiet simmering fury to pleasant father in the blink of an eye and he smirked. "Settled." He lifted his glass to his lips, taking a sip. "You go back to the humans, do your job and return, it's that easy, son. If only Xavian could be like you. But he's a stubborn brat, I have no idea who to tolerate more between the both of you."
