to err is human

Joon was left bereft of words by Yuna's confession.

"I cannot forget last night. No, I won't forget it cause every time I close my eyes, I remember our kiss and your touch and how it all felt. It might be a fleeting moment for you but it was everything to me. I enjoyed it and I will relive it in my head for as long as possible. It was a special night for me because yesterday, yesterday was my birthday and I was going to spend it alone and then, you gave me the best gift possible so, don't ask me to forget it. Even if I do forget it for a while, I will remember it on every birthday of mine." She paused to catch her breath,

"I understand your situation. I am not of your status so it must be hard for you to accept you were intimate with someone like me but …I don't care. You can delete or accept your feeling, they are yours. Just don't expect me to do the same. I am not a robot, I am just an average woman."

With those words, she gave him a nod and sailed out.

Joon almost fell out of his seat from the shock. What just happened? Is Yuna in love with him? Does she hate him? He can't seem to wrap his head around it and eventually gave up trying to understand her.

AN HOUR LATER….

It was time for a lunch break. Jiho wasn't hungry but in order to build a strong relationship with his fellow employees, he decided to eat with them. He got to the cafeteria and got a tray of food.

It wasn't very obvious at first and then it was - the sound of message notifications started dropping on people's phones and immediately they read the message, they would look at him.

What is going on?

"Jiho!" Hana rushed to him with a worried look on her face.

"What happened?" He asked, glancing about the room.

Hana couldn't say a word and only handed him her phone.

It was an article and at the top is a picture of Ari in an unfamiliar man's car. Her face was half covered by the man. It looks like he leaned and was kissing her, It could also be that he is just helping her put her seatbelt on; it's all based on the perspective of the viewer.

Jiho's knuckles turned white as his grip on the phone tightened. He couldn't read the article and flashed his bloodshot eyes on Hana, "Who published this?"

she gulped, "It's some whistle blower at Eagle media. I did a background check on him and apparently, he is a nasty reporter. He targets famous people and tarnish their image mostly by exposing their secrets."

"Exposing?" Jiho hated the sound of the word, "He is not exposing anything. I will make him pay for ruining Ari's image."

"What image Jiho? Are you pretending not to know or did you truly forget?" She questioned, "Ari is no longer considered a saint to the public's eye. She is branded as a bad woman who cheated on her fiancé and with his younger brother."

She drew a breath, "Do you think the public will care about what's true or not? Her image is already ruined from the day you decided to marry her and also, if she did cheated on brother Joon with you, maybe after seeing us the way she did last night, she might have …"

Hana hesitated. Jiho glared at her, growling, "Have what?"

"Maybe she is doing this to make you pay for kissing me."

"You should be lucky I respect you." Jiho snarled, "As a woman, how can you think Ari will do something that disgusting? I don't know who this man is and I will but for now, I will make this reporter pay."

He handed Hana her phone and stormed out of the building.

AT THE HOSPITAL

Ari is still sleeping and Inha was by her side, he was scrolling through the internet when the article suddenly popped up on his feed.

What the hell is this? This fucking idiot what does he even know?

When he carried Ari out of the house, he put her in the passenger's seat and helped put her seatbelt on, it must be then the reporter snapped them and published exaggerated news.

He knew something had to be done. Asked a nurse to keep an eye on Ari and left the hospital.

AT EAGLE MEDIA

Han Jaewon, senior reporter and infamous whistleblower is in the cafeteria, surrounded by his friends as he brags to them about the recent article he published.

"How do you manage to get your hands on such exclusive scoops?" One of them asked.

Han Jaewon smirked, "Ah, it was pretty easy. I mean, what do you expect from a two faced woman who cheated on her fiancé with his younger brother? Gong Jiho should've known his wife would be unfaithful. Maybe he isn't that good in bed so she found herself another man to satisfy her."

Jaewon had always been a dirty minded man and never filters his words when he speaks. He leaned coyly, "Maybe one of us might get a chance to get under her skirt since she opens her legs to just anyone." He said, laughter followed.

Jiho had just entered the room and when he overheard Jaewon mocking Ari, he lost control. At the blink of an eye, he yanked Jaewon by his collar and landed a punch on his face. Jaewon was battered to the ground.

He looks up in shock, "What the hell?"

"After what you said, I should pull out your tongue out of your filthy mouth." Jiho growled, grabbed and landed another punch on Jaewon's cheek, and then landed another one, and another one. He went full psycho on him till his face was completely messed up

Jaewon's colleagues watched in fear and trembled each time Jiho punched him. A woman hiding in the crowd furtively pulls out her phone and started taking a video when suddenly, someone snatched her phone and smashed it into the floor.

She looked up sharply, "What have you done?"

Inha glared at the puzzled crowd, "Whoever dares to take a video will also lose his phone like she did." He faced the woman, handing her his business card that he pulled from his marroon suit's breast pocket. "Message me your details, I will send you money for a new phone."

Still in disbelief, the woman scoffed, watching with the crowd as Inha mustered the courage to pull Jiho away from Jaewon.

"That is enough."

"I have to kill him!" Jiho barked.

"If you keep going, you will really kill him and ruin your life. So calm down for now." Inha advised.

Realizing it was actually Inha that was holding him back made Jiho relax. He straighten his mangled suit and cleared his throat.

Jaewon was helped to his feet by his colleagues. He quivers in fear as they immediately rushed him to a clinic.

"You have always been the quiet one, it must be because you have a beast hidden within you." Inha attempted to lighten the atmosphere but that only frustrated Jiho even more.

He turn to leave when his eyes finally saw the clothes Inha was wearing. He paused for a moment, "You were the one in the picture?"

"Exactly, that is what I am here to make clear to the reporter." Inha confirmed.

Giving a sigh of relief, Jiho briefly chuckled, "I was thinking of how to clear Ari's name but it seems fate is on my side. But, what were you doing in my house?"

Inha sighed, suddenly feeling the words weigh his tongue down. He cleared his throat, looking up to meet Jiho's questionable gaze, "Are you …Are you maltreating my sister?"

His question totally caught Jiho off guard. "What? Maltreatment? How can you even think so??"

Inha stammers, "If that is not the case then why did she not inform you that she were sick? I found her unconscious in your living room. She called me and asked for help."

She must still be upset with me but how did she get sick?

Jiho sighed, "We had a fight."

"Is that why you let her walk in the rain for hours?" Inha interrogated.

Jiho gasped, "Did she walk in the rain? I didn't know, I swear."

"There's no need to swear, she's at the hospital, you should go and resolve your fight with her. She keeps calling your name in her sleep." Inha suggested, "What are you waiting for? Go! I will handle everything here."

"Okay. But if that bastard decides to sue…"

"We'll sue him first." Inha answered with a growl, "I know how to deal with trashy reporters like him. Don't worry, just take care of my sister."

"Don't worry, I will care for her. Thank you for today." Jiho smiled as he patted Inha gently on his shoulder, "I will leave now."

"Good luck." Inha cheered as Jiho dashed out of the room.

"Alright." He clapped as he faces the baffled crowd, "Let the trial begin."
