Kelvin loved the sensation of Lily's lips on his. Her body felt so soft and delicate, but he could sense himself losing control. He didn't want Lily to feel uncomfortable or think he was rushing things, especially since their relationship had only just become official.
With all the restraint he could muster, he broke the kiss, his forehead gently resting against hers. As they paused, he could hear her soft, uneven breaths. Smiling warmly, he placed a light peck on her lips. "I should leave now to take care of Ford's errand," he said with a grin.
Lily covered her face with her hands, too shy to meet his gaze. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and she avoided his eyes. Laughing softly, Kelvin reassured her, "Babe, there's no need to be shy. I loved the kiss," he said, his voice gentle, as he pulled her into a comforting embrace.
After a tender moment, they separated. "I need to leave now; I'll call you later," Lily said, her tone light as she waved goodbye. Kelvin returned the gesture, his smile lingering as he watched her walk away, not taking his eyes off her until she was out of sight.
The second she disappeared from view, he fell back onto the couch, grinning like a fool. His hand instinctively touched his lips as he replayed the memory of their kiss in his mind. He craved more, the thought of her filling his chest with a warm, giddy feeling. Staring up at the ceiling, Kelvin couldn't help but smile like a teenage boy who had just experienced his first kiss.
Lily was almost at the door when her phone buzzed, notifying her of a transaction receipt. She glanced at the screen and saw that her elder brother had just sent her a large sum of money. Along with the receipt came a message: "Get her whatever she needs."
Surprised at the amount, Lily stared at the screen, her brows furrowing slightly. "All this money? Just for a lady? He must really like her," she muttered softly, unable to hide her curiosity about this mysterious woman her brother was so invested in.
Unable to suppress her eagerness, she pushed open the grand doors leading into the house. As soon as she stepped inside, the servants greeted her warmly. She had always been a kind soul, and true to her nature, she smiled and responded graciously to their greetings.
Though Lily rarely visited, every time she did, she brought warmth and cheer. "Welcome, Miss Lily. It's been a while," Morgan, the ever-dutiful butler, said as he approached her with a respectful bow.
"Oh, good morning, Morgan. Yes, it's been quite some time. I hope my brother hasn't been stressing you too much?" she asked with a friendly smile, her tone teasing yet gentle.
"No, Miss. Thank you for asking," Morgan replied with a polite smile, his demeanor as professional as ever.
Lily glanced around curiously, her mind drifting back to the mysterious woman she had heard about. "Where is she?" she asked, her tone betraying her anticipation as her eyes scanned the room.
"Who, Miss?" Morgan responded, his confusion evident as he tried to discern whom Lily was referring to.
"The new lady," Lily clarified.
"The new lady? Oh, you mean Master Ford's guest?" Morgan asked, trying to confirm he understood her question.
"Yes, exactly! Where is she?" Lily asked eagerly.
"Oh, Miss Lily, she's in her room," he replied politely.
"Which of the rooms downstairs?" Lily asked, already heading toward the section where the guest rooms were located.
"No, Miss. She isn't staying downstairs. Master Ford directed that she stay upstairs," the butler explained.
"Did you just say upstairs?" Lily asked, spinning around to face him in shock. She wanted to ensure she hadn't misheard.
"Yes, Miss," Morgan confirmed. "Those were Master Ford's instructions. He specifically requested that she stay upstairs, in the room directly opposite his."
"This is serious," Lily muttered, her eyes widening in disbelief. "Big Bro wouldn't even let me sleep upstairs, but he lets her?!" She shook her head incredulously before saying, "Let me go check on her." Without wasting another moment, she began ascending the stairs.
Meanwhile, in the room upstairs, Elena was growing restless. She stood in front of the wardrobe, rummaging for something to wear after her bath. However, the wardrobe held nothing but neatly folded bedsheets and pillowcases.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" she muttered to herself, closing the wardrobe door with a frustrated sigh.
She paced back and forth, trying to figure out a solution. Wrapping herself in towels until Ford returned wasn't ideal, but she wasn't sure what else to do.
Her thoughts drifted to the servant girls. Maybe they could help? She considered asking them for assistance but shook her head, quickly dismissing the idea. Something about it didn't sit right with her, and she decided against it.
Picking up her phone, Elena considered calling Ford, but she hesitated. He had rushed out earlier in a hurry, and she was certain he would be very busy.
After mentally weighing all her options, she realized none of them would solve her problem. Sighing in defeat, she decided to sit on the edge of the bed and wait for Ford to return. It seemed to be her only viable choice.
Just as she settled into her decision, a notification buzzed on her phone. She picked it up lazily, not expecting much, only to find a text message from Ford.
"Hope you're fine. I just realized you probably don't have anything to wear after bathing, and I'm tied up with an important business matter at work. I'm sorry if this is sudden, but my little sister is on her way to meet you. She'll help you settle in and get some new clothes. Try to get along—she's a nice girl."
Elena read the message aloud, her voice laced with surprise. "His sister?" she muttered, standing up from the bed. "Is she already on her way?" she asked aloud, though there was no one around to answer her.
Her mind began to race. She couldn't help but wonder how the meeting would go. Would Ford's sister like her? Would they get along? Elena had always struggled to make friends, and the idea of interacting with someone so close to Ford felt overwhelming.
"What if she doesn't like me?" Elena whispered to herself, pacing the room. The thought of meeting someone new—and someone so important in Ford's life—made her nervous. She had no idea how to approach this, and her lack of confidence only made her worry more about how she would cope with Ford's sister.
Still lost in her thoughts, Elena was startled when a soft, subtle knock came at the door. "So soon?" she murmured under her breath, trying to remain quiet. The knock came again, more insistent this time. Gathering enough courage, she finally opened the door and was greeted by the smiling face of a strikingly pretty young woman.
Elena stepped back slightly, allowing the woman to step inside. "Wow, you're really pretty! Now I see why my brother is so smitten with you," the stranger said with a playful laugh.
"My name is Lily. What's yours?" Lily asked, her tone light and friendly, though Elena sensed she already knew the answer.
Elena hesitated for a moment, still trying to process the situation. Lily's earlier comment about her brother being "all over her matter" replayed in her mind, but before she could dwell on it, Lily's question pulled her back. "My name is Elena," she replied softly.
Looking at Lily, Elena noticed that she seemed to be around the same age as her. Lily was undeniably beautiful and exuded a warm, approachable energy that made her seem genuinely friendly.
"Well, Elena, we've got some shopping to do!" Lily declared with enthusiasm, grabbing Elena's hand and gently pulling her out of the room.
Elena was taken aback by Lily's easygoing gestures. This was someone she had just met, yet Lily was holding her hand as if they had been close friends for years.
When they stepped outside, Elena's eyes widened at the sight of a sleek black tinted car parked in front of the house. It was large, elegant, and gleaming under the sunlight, and she couldn't help but admire its beauty.
As Lily continued to pull her along, Elena soon realized that she was being guided into the luxurious car. Once inside, she marveled at the interior, which was as stunning as the exterior—leather seats, polished details, and a faint, pleasant scent that seemed to complement the car's sophistication.
"Please play us some music," Lily instructed the driver cheerfully. The soft hum of the engine faded as a lively song began to play through the car's sound system.
As the music filled the space, Lily swayed and danced happily to the rhythm, clearly enjoying herself. Meanwhile, Elena sat quietly, her mind swirling with thoughts. She couldn't help but wonder how the day would unfold, what this sudden shopping trip entailed, and, most importantly, what Lily truly thought of her.
