They looked back at him confused. 

He sighed and said, "Say, Thank you, teacher."

He shouted at them, "Louder."

They shouted back, "Thank you, teacher."

"Let me see your dedication. Speak louder."

"Thank you, teacher."

He still wasn't satisfied, "If you don't mean it, then don't say it."

They raised their voice to the limit, "Thank you, teacher."

He saw that many of them had strained their throats to thank him. He had also confirmed that they were grateful through the notifications of karma. So he was satisfied.
