MOUNTAIN SITTING IMMORTAL (MSI)
A conduit of the great Dao happened to enter the grotto heaven called Earth. No one had been able to take ownership of this conduit for many years until Marvin came into contact with it.
Marvin met the requirement to use the conduit. This allowed him to begin his journey towards immortality.
The journey begins from transcending the first mortal coil at Body Forging to transcending the second at Energy Gathering, passing through the subsequent mortal coils, and hopefully to becoming a true immortal with eternal life.
But the conduit is far more useful than helping a dying business tycoon gain another lease at life. It is also a conduit of great power.
This power and many more will be his as long as he continues to sit on his mountain and grows the mountain into a colossus. The mountain will bring him to greater heights and greater power.
This is the story of the Mountain Sitting Immortal.

✨Review after 90 chapters✨ Personally, I’d recommend reading all the free chapters first before judging the story. This review was written after I read all 90 currently available chapters. (⚠️ BE WARNED: this review may contain minor spoilers ⚠️) Here is my review: ‑Writing Quality (⭐️ 4/5 Stars ⭐️)‑ The writing quality is quite good. It isn’t the best I have seen, but it’s certainly good enough to be enjoyable. I rarely give 5 stars; out of thousands of books I have read, only 6 qualify as 5 stars, so the passing rate is below 1 percent. Anyway, I have nothing more to say—I just hope that you don’t mix up Kelvin and Arthur in the future because of your other book (you know what I mean). ‑Updating Stability (⭐️ 5/5 Stars ⭐️)‑ The updating stability has been reliable so far, with 2 chapters a day (though I sometimes wish the chapters were longer; that’s just my personal preference, as the chapters aren’t exactly short but are long enough). ‑Story Development (⭐️ 5/5 Stars ⭐️)‑ I liked the story development so far; it is neither too slow nor too fast, with reasonable time skips and a story direction that makes sense according to what you set up. So far, there is no cliché per se (depending on how you see it). It kind of reminds me of the Birth Of The Demonic Sword story—except that the main character’s mother is a bit crazy. Yes, he is not an orphan. ‑Character Design (⭐️ 5/5 ⭐️)‑ Regarding character design, the main character isn’t exactly admirable. If I had to assign him an alignment, it would be (initially) Chaotic Good (like, Deadpool-good). That “good” isn’t substantial; he was a profit-driven individual before his reincarnation (I say this as he has killed people indirectly through others to "keep his hands clean" which fits a rich modern persons behavior, that’s why I’m saying that he isn’t exactly good, while he has "morals" or rather had, once it was about profit and business, his "ugly side" comes forth), after reincarnation his alignment shifted more toward evil because he killed people. Later, after some character development, he becomes either Chaotic Neutral or Neutral Evil. Either way, most characters actually think, so none of them are mere empty husks. Sure, not everyone is the brightest, but they are reasonably portrayed; some are smarter and some more average, and each has its own distinct personality, even among the extras. ‑World Background (⭐️ 4/5 ⭐️)‑ So, coming to the world background, the “System” he has is a passive “cheat” (at least so far). To be honest, it’s kind of convenient for both the reader and the main character to track progress that way. I wish it would show not only his lifespan but also his age, as his lifespan will continue to increase—making the passage of time, so to speak, and thus his age, more important. Sure, I can easily remember his age, but I doubt others will unless it is mentioned. Anyway, the main character is not talentless, which is good. In fact, he has his advantages because the 2× multiplier (or more in the future) applies to EVERYTHING—comprehension, energy, soul, mind, physical body, etc. Consequently, he is talented and becomes even more so as time goes on, giving him quite an edge over others, although it becomes increasingly hard to upgrade as the requirements grow steeper. Well, why isn’t it a 5/5 but only a 4/5? It’s because, while everything is detailed and well thought out—mixing Eastern and Western styles like dojos (smaller versions of sects and major families, which I like; I hope this applies to animals and beasts as well, such as Western dragons [four legs, 2 wings, 1 tail] and Eastern dragons [a serpentine body, four claw-like legs, and an overall long shape] as examples)—this is a “cultivation type” story. Thank God no Chinese words or names are used, which I also appreciate, because things like Wan Dao Pavilion often translate as Myriad Dao Pavilion or, depending on context, Ten Thousand Dao Pavilion (usually Myriad, so you know for other stories), or how I hate Huaxia (which means Flame) representing China (Yuan = Origin, Taiji = Unity, Yang = Solar, Yin = Lunar—or Sun and Moon, for example) in those xianxia stories. I’m quite happy that this isn’t the case here. Now, after I have been sidetracked—despite these good points, I wish the fight scenes were more detailed. I do know that the author is capable of this, so I hope he applies it in the future. ‑Summary (✨ 4.6/5 Stars ✨)‑ I like the story so far. Some people complain about his pet or the “romance” (regarding romance, I think it’s quite far away; I don’t know for sure, though, as 90 chapters in there has been no sign so far—and I’m actually glad that there is NO harem, to be honest). However, I don’t think either issue is significant. As for the pet, if it lives that long, it won’t be too strong and will eventually become irrelevant unless something happens. Otherwise, I like the main character; he fits someone who comes from a modern world perfectly—especially considering his past position and his profit-driven personality—before he undergoes character development that suits the world he lives in. I hope my review helps you decide whether this story is worth reading. I’d say give it a shot if you liked the beginning of The Birth Of The Demonic Sword, and I also hope this helps the author in some way. (Anyway, this is my review. You better pin it. According to the word count, this is around 800-1000 words, half a chapter.)
Do not trust this review. Didn't even read past chapter 1. Fucking idiot.
Sigh, never mind, it's romance! 😞 But I understand it’s for the bag 💰, so do what you need to do. Though I’m looking at you differently now, I can't lie.
Romance + Pet + Friendship, comparred to greed and destiny games the protagonist is too much diferent, more like Soverick or Fang Yuan brother. If you are here for a protagonist like Legion, Fang Yuan, Gu nan, etc then you should read something else.
I'm looking forward to this, but it still breaks my heart that I don't see Gluttony before this.
Romance. A new taste. I trust that you will not ruin this for me, author.
well,I don't care about romance but let's hope it will entertaining.
This novel has great potential. Reaching thousands of chapters shouldn't be just a dream if it maintains its momentum.
I want to trust you, I don't know how the story will be from here on out, but I want to trust. So I hope I won't be disappointed
How can we have more chapters were are the golden ticket to we get more chapters
It sounds unique which I'm excited for, Quality is pretty much assured by your previous work so thats a plus. Romance huh. Well it's not like other things that I read don't also have romance. Let's see if you are able to make me enjoy it or if I just have to tolerate it. As long as there is no Harem, then that's fine.
This is my rating for both western standards and web novel standards. I will explain why your story will or will not become popular. (Western Standards) Hollywood masterpiece. No.1 cynical by nature, it portrays the negative qualities of human nature, it shows the readers the negative aspects of human race which many westerners enjoy. no.2 relatable, due to having realistic male lead. A flawed, average man with minimal interesting personality who somehow got a system to aid him on his journey to become the strongest. that is aided and supplemented by interesting side characters. no. 3 portrays the life of average people and the relationship that most humans have with other significant individuals, which most westerners appreciate due to relatability. no.4 the novel does not revolve or glaze/uplift the main protagonist, portraying him as average individual that no one fears. (Westerners find this relatable) no.5 slow pace and extremely detailed. Westerners love the relatability, cynicism and what they perceived as realistic relationship based on the situation they are in. (A masterpiece in western standards) They also appreciated detailed and slow-paced stories. (10/10 in western standards) Web novel Standards/ Asian taste based on my experience of reading web novel and watching Cdrama/kdrama/ including Japanese entertainment. (Garbage) 1. Info-dump, too much information and slow-paced novel which most fans of Asian standards never appreciate. Individuals who enjoy Asian entertainment, (They want action and glazing). 2. Average MC, in Asia no one appreciate average main protagonist, who is relatable , especially in web novel. they want protagonist who is like Julius Caesar, Otto Von Bismarck and Napoleon Bonaparte. They want protagonist that stands out, absolute MOTHERFUCKING GENIUS that everyone can't help but fear (in weak to strong, fear of potential that they glaze it so much. In Overpowered, fear of strength that they regret the decision of messing with this GIGA CHAD. 3. IN WEBNOVEL, most readers appreciate villainous or antihero personality; what they DO not appreciate is a protagonist who have no rare bond, or a protagonist who have connections like the most average individuals in real life; a connection which most people deemed as toxic. This is the problem with this novel, it perceived a protagonist who have a lacked of care of others, the impact or his personality would been more appreciate if there was an exception, someone who he treats differently than others, which is why Malakai Sanguine is so popular, he has trust issues and lack of care, but the moment he did care you appreciate and knows the significance of such decision which this protagonist has yet to make, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth how he perceived everyone as selfish and underserving of his care. WHAT WEBNOVEL READER WANTS IS A RUTHLESS PROTAGONIST BUT THE MOMENT THAT RARE INDIVIDUAL SHOWS UP, the care they show is touching that you would understand the significance of such actions. (Web novel readers or even in Asian entertainment love cynical protagonist, what they do not appreciate is a cynical person who holds no exception, it makes the message weak. My personal review as someone who loves romance. I think you will fail. whether it is western standards (expect Hollywood films, which I think is changing because the romance is dying compared to Korea and China) or Asian standards. No one appreciate relatability and cynicism in romance. Most romance readers tend to appreciate sacrifice, selflessness and obsession (healthy or unhealthily). The way author portray relationships is too cynical to portray romantic narrative, it will turn into soap opera or drama instead of romance. Romance is supposed to be Idealize not relatable. Try reading romance or watching one of the most popular romance drama out there for example; in kdrama, there is (My demons who has a male lead who is perceived as dead and the female lead attempting to commit suicide because she really thought he was dead) or how he took a hit for her because of his love. The one thing you need to understand when creating romance is SACRIFICE, SELFLESSNESS AND OBSESSION. the way you portray relationships makes me feel that you will fail. Why do you think first love romance trope is so popular? Why do you think romance trope where I never fell in love with someone until her. PEOPLE love that IM EVIL BUT YOU ARE THE EXEPTION. the way you portray the relationship the main protagonist has with others is already enough proof that I smell it far away. I suggest changing you tag to tragedy, weak to strong, system, drama, villainous (because the male protagonist is DEFINETLY NOT ANTI HERO, antihero commit evil to for the greater good and not sugarcoating the evil of his action).
I know I should read it first, but no harem? and is it single fl? Im not sure if you mind me asking this question because some authors are sensitive for some reason but I just have a extremely distaste of harem or two or more FLs.
I can say that so far there hasn't been a moment where I regretted starting this book, so I can only say "Keep it up!" and thx
it is a great story and love to read more about but I think it could be a little fast paced like your other book
