Amanda gazed at me, her eyes brimming with tears, as if I had been the one to wrong her.
"Indeed," I answered, my voice steady. "She's a friend from my youth, and we're in a relationship now."
My emotionless demeanor was a stark contrast to her tearful state.
"What about the eight years we shared? Is this truly how it ends?"
"Yvo, if you return to me, I'll end things with Jayden. It was just a bit of fun."
I was astounded by Amanda's brazenness. She was openly revealing the true nature of her actions.
"Amanda, do you think I'm some sort of pet that comes and goes at your command?" I said through gritted teeth.
I gripped my coffee mug tighter, my knuckles turning pale from the pressure.
"No, Yvo, that's not it at all," she pleaded, her voice dripping with desperation. "I just wanted to enjoy myself before settling down. I never meant for it to go this far. I'm truly sorry. It won't happen again, I swear."
